They will try to deny that the U.S. has anything to do with it so take this opportunity to remind them that it is the murderous regime of Pepe Lobo would never have been possible without the support of the U.S. and that the U.S. continues to train the Honduran military at the School of the Americas.

The U.S. State Department has repeatedly stated that human rights are at the “top of their agenda” in Honduras. Why then have over 40 activists, journalists, environmentalists, feminists and LGBTQI activists been murdered since the coup? Read more here and here. The U.S. must act immediately and strongly against the Lobo regime, rather than reinstating military aid and strong-arming other countries in Latin American to reinstate Honduras into the Organization of American States (OAS).
