Three thousand indigenous people blocked roads linking various departments of Colombia, in retaliation of the arrest of the governor of the U'wa indigenous community, Ismael Uncasía and six others. The Indians threatened to continue the action until their demands are resolved, which include the release of their leaders and the formation of a standing committee on the situation of indigenous peoples in areas of conflict and oil exploration. The prosecution accuses Uncasia of having links with the guerrilla group National Liberation Army (ELN), after the car bomb that exploded in Arauca on Jan. 25.
