US Peace Activists Galvanized by Egyptian Revolution http://theundergroundrainbow.net/2011/02/12/unacs-statement-on-egyptian-victory-mubaraks-resignation/
The victory of the Egyptian uprising has galvanized anti-war activists in the US, who see the US military’s $1.3 billion in aid to Egypt as a hallmark of US imperialism. The United National Antiwar Committee warns the Egyptian military backed by Washington will do everything in its power to keep the Egyptian revolution from “blossoming” further by removing all members of the old regime and winning “the freedom, jobs, equality and dignity which motivated their revolution from the start.” UNAC is coordinating large-scale rallies April 9th and 10th against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, military support for Israel and repressive regimes in the middle-east. Simultaneous rallies are set to be held across the globe, including Baghdad. Organizers expect these rallies to be the largest peace demonstrations since 2003, when millions protested the US invasion of Iraq.
