Gazans Still Under Lockdown http://www.maannews.net/eng/ViewDetails.aspx?ID=366079

One month after Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was toppled, leaving Gaza through the Rafah border, crossing into Egypt has actually become more difficult. From the start of the Egyptian revolution, residents of Gaza had hoped a change in the Egyptian regime would lead to the easing of restrictions at Rafah. The crossing is the only available access point and travelers say the journey through the terminal is exhausting, involving hours-long waits in the hot sun and winter rain. Egyptians have a list of Palestinians prohibited from entering the country. Those on the "black list" are usually not aware their passage will be denied until they begin crossing. More and more Gazan residents with travel papers, including students registered at foreign universities, patients with medical referrals and those with visas seeking passage to third countries are being denied entry.
