Governor-General Welcomes Japan's Investment in Yazd Province http://english.farsnews.com/newstext.php?nn=8912221127Governor-General of the central Iranian Yazd province welcomed joint ventures with foreign countries, and voiced preparedness to launch joint investment projects with Japan. Speaking in a meeting with the Japanese envoy to Iran on Sunday, Governor-General Mohammadreza Fallahzadeh underlined his province's wide capacities and infrastructures for various projects in the agriculture, minding and industries sectors. "In the same line, we welcome Japan's joint investment and financing projects in Yazd province," he stated.
Also during the meeting, the Iranian provincial official extended his condolences to the Japanese envoy over the recent devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan which have claimed thousands of lives on the eastern coasts of the Asian country. The Japanese envoy, for his part, praised Yazd's progress and achievements in various fields, reminding that Yazd has made outstanding progress compared with what he had seen in his previous visits to the province. He further said that Yazd enjoys excellent capacities and high potentials in the industrial sector, and called for the further expansion of relations and cooperation between Japan and the Iranian province.
Yazd has established extensive relations with foreign countries' economic sectors. An eight-member trade delegation from Iran's central province of Yazd signed three cooperation agreements with the officials of Castellon at the end of its 6-day visit to the Spanish city in July 2010. Yazd and Castellon officials inked three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in various fields in a bid to boost mutual cooperation between the two regions. The two sides agreed to cooperate in water transfer, solar energy and tile production.
