Prominent leaders of India's Muslim organizations condemned the NATO military assaults on Libya on Sunday. 'These military strikes by the NATO forces comprising France, Britain and the United States has clear imperialist and hegemonic designs against the oil wealth and the strategic geographical position of Libya,' they said in a statement issued by the All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (Umbrella body of the Indian Muslim Organizations) in New Delhi on Sunday. 

Muslim leaders argued that the same powers did not lift a finger against the brutal Zionist regime's occupation of Palestinian and the Syrian lands and the criminal Zionist attacks against Gaza Strip and Lebanon, while the same powers are taking a completely opposite stand towards similar popular movements in some other Arab countries.'The current western military campaign will quickly lead to landing forces on the Libyan soil in order to loot Libya's oil wealth and plan a permanent military presence on its soil as has already happened in Afghanistan and Iraq,' they noted.
