The Secretariat of Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council announced that different Iranian universities have set up various majors and courses on nanotechnology at MSc and PhD levels as part of the plans and programs mentioned in the 10-Year Strategic Document of Nanotechnology.Stressing the growth of nanotechnology in the country since 2004, Dr Sarkar continued, "When we started our activities in this regard, Iran ranked 60th in the world, ranked 6th among the Islamic countries, and ranked 5th in the area. But in 3 years, we have ranked first among the Islamic countries and 14th in the world."
