BEIRUT: Israel conducted intensive military drills in the region of the occupied Sheb‘aa Farms Monday, according to reports from the south. Elnashra news website reported that a series of explosions could be heard emanating from the area, as Israeli helicopters hovered overhead. Security sources told the site that the blasts were the result of military maneuvers, which also stretched over the occupied Golan Heights. The drills were the latest in a string of heightened activities from northern Israeli military positions. Sunday saw Israeli patrols erecting 200 meters of barbed wire fencing along the perimeter of occupied Ghajar village, plus three observation posts fitted with imaging systems and machine guns.
