Gaddafi didn't want us to provoke Libyans to think about their situations in life. He made sure his fingers were in every pie: business, culture, soccer, religion – he even tried to change some of the words in the Quran. He wanted to keep Libya closed and keep it all for himself."

[i do take issue with this statement or at least partly... "But think about it, he makes it sound like Al-Qaeda and the United States are working together to attack Libya, which is absurd. For one thing that would never happen, and secondly, look around –do you see Al-Qaeda or America in Libya? Of course not. He talks to hear himself talk."

[no doubt about it ,alqaeda does indeed work with us government because alqaeda is the us government or rather cia and those it funds wich do include extremists,and its client regimes secret services,this is well documented..however evidence that us and alqaeda are in libya,i dont necessarily see it so i'd agree there...
