Tehran, Caracas to Develop Media Cooperation http://english.farsnews.com/newstext.php?nn=8912260241 Iran's Presidential Advisor for Press Affairs Ali Akbar Javanfekr and Head of Venezuelan news agency (AVN) Freddy Fernandez in a meeting in Caracas inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further expand media cooperation between the two countries. Javanfekr, who is also the head of the Islamic republic news agency, signed two professional MoUs on Iran's media cooperation with Venezuelan news agency AVN and the country's national television on Wednesday.
The Iranian and Venezuelan officials undertook to promote media cooperation including exchange of news, photos and newsreels. The two officials also held talks on opening representative offices in Tehran and Caracas, holding professional workshops and exchange of visits by respective officials. In another development, Javanfekr singed a MoU with the Venezuelan head of Radio and Television Helena Salcedo on expansion of professional cooperation and exchange of news being aired or cabled. They expressed the hope to witness expansion of media cooperation between the two countries in the future. Since taking office in 2005, the Iranian President has expanded Iran's cooperation with many Latin American states, including Venezuela, Bolivia and Cuba.
