'The West may be interested in the outbreak of a civil war in Libya. It wants the armed hostilities to prolong so that it can neutralize both sides and impose its solution,' said Hamadi El-Aouni who is a political science professor at Berlin's Free University. He warned that western military aid to Libyan rebels could trigger a civil war in Libya, leading to a partition of the Arab country.The Tunisian expert said the West was in fact 'interested in consolidating its influence' in energy-rich Libya.
