An Austrian military officer who worked within the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in the Israeli occupied Syrian Golan Highs revealed to the Palestinian newspaper Al-Manaar, that Israel is providing large-scale support for the armed terrorist groups in Syria. UNDOF Officer confirms Large-Scale Israeli Support and Direct Military Aggression against Syrian Sites. The Austrian military officer, who declines to reveal his name, but who is known to Al-Manaar, told Al-Manaar that the scale of Israel´s support to the armed terrorist groups, which is spread through villages in the Israeli occupied Syrian Golan is very large, and that the support includes all logistic, military and medical fields.The officer, belonging to the withdrawing Austrian UNDOF battalion made the statement while being in Palestine, waiting for further transport home to Austria. The officer also affirmed the existence of a joint operations room between armed terrorist gangs and Israel. The joint operation room has the function to coordinate the delivery of assistance to the terrorists.The Austrian UNDOF officer added, that staff at this operations room also coordinated the entry of injured terrorists into Israel, where injured terrorists are admitted to hospitals in the nearby Israeli settlements. The officer explicitly cited the Zeif hospital in Safed.Al-Manaar quoted the Austrian officer as saying, that this joint operation room is in constant contact with the Israeli military and security to facilitate the weapons transport from Israel to the terrorists. The Austrian officer pointed out, that the UNDF has information about large numbers of terrorists who have been transported to local and field hospitals over the past three months.The Austrian officer also revealed, that the disengagement zone between Syria and Israel was used to provide support for the gunmen, many of whom he said, came to Israel from neighboring countries over the last months and then moved into the occupied Syrian Golan Highs to reinforce the terrorist groups.The Austrian officer also pointed towards tens of media reports and statements issued by leaders of terrorist groups which clearly disclosed the scale of the Israeli coordination with and support for armed gangs, not only through logistic and military assistance, but also through direct intervention in terms of launching attacks on Syrian sites.

Why we are demonstrating:

1. While the White House orders the Pentagon to plan a no-fly zone over Syria and the U.S. has troops at the ready in Jordan, for the past two years the CIA has coordinated massive weapons shipments from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey with the aim of guaranteeing that a pro-U.S. regime comes to power, therefore negating the Syrian people’s right to self-determination.
2. Israel, with the backing of the Obama administration which represents U.S. Imperialism, has in recent days carried out major bombings of Syria. Israel receives $4 billion a year from the United States (the largest recipient of U.S. foreign aid) and acts as a proxy for and an extension of U.S. military power in the Middle East.
3. As with Iraq, where the U.S. war caused the death of 1.5 million people, the lives of Syrians, 80,000 of whom have died to date, are meaningless to the U.S. neocolonial superpower that is now threatening yet another brutal war and occupation in the Middle East.
4. As under Bush, the Obama policy is to carry out regime change in this oil-rich region to the advantage of U.S. corporate interests. The invasion of Iraq in 2003, the U.S.-backed Israeli war in Lebanon in 2006, the 2011 NATO bombing of Libya, the now-escalating war in Syria and the growing threats against Iran are part of a coordinated regional effort by the United States, Britain and France to completely dominate the resources and land of an area that was once considered a prime prize of Western colonial domination and plunder.
5. As with all wars of aggression, the imperialist powers have perfected a propaganda cover that ascribes lofty motives to their intervention in the Middle East — “eliminating weapons of mass destruction” or “protecting civilians” or “fighting the war on terror” or “fighting for democracy.”
6. The U.S. government cuts basic services and has eliminated hundreds of thousands of public sector workers’ jobs in the last three years because of “budget shortages,” but spends limitless funds in carrying out wars of aggression.

He gave the following talk to hundreds of Haitian farmers at the 40th anniversary assembly of the Peasant Movement of Papay (MPP) on March 18, 2013.I’d like to bring to you the perspective of the Landless Workers Movement on this complex historic moment, and on the social movements we’re building in Latin America.Just when it seemed like the capitalist system was eternal, a crisis in the system exploded in 2008. The first consequence has been the ideological defeat of neoliberalism, because neoliberalism says that the market will resolve everything, and that idea has been shot down. The second consequence has been the decline of the political power of the US. They still have the strength but no one believes in them anymore. On the contrary, the whole world is mad at the gringo capital.At this moment, there is a strong project of recolonization of the continent according to the US’s interests. We defeated them with the Free Trade Area of Americas (FTAA), but now they come with their military forces, bilateral trade treaties with Mexico and with Colombia and with Chile, a treaty for the Pacific, and the control of Central America and the Carribean. And all of the politics of Obama are in that direction: reconquer the continent for the interests of his businesses. Don’t be fooled by the color of his skin; he is a representative of gringo capitalism.What you are doing here in this school [the agro-ecology training center of the Peasant Movement of Haiti] is revolutionary. It’s anti-imperialist. It’s anti-capitalist. The imperialists want to control our seeds to control our plates and our lives. Building a school of agro-ecology in the countryside, and taking control of your seeds, is the same as building a fort of guerrillas. Guerrillas of Black descent.We need to take one more step in integrating peoples, which is to organize mass struggles. When people stay seated, they’re no good for anything. We have to put our energy in each country to build struggles against our principal enemies: the banks, the transnational companies, and the media controlled by the bourgeoisie. And I hope we will join together the fights from our countries and create a common struggle. I hope we achieve very soon one united battle to definitively defeat Monsanto, Nestlé in milk, Cargill in corn, and mining companies.To conclude: I’d like you to understand that the situation in Latin America in this moment is in a permanent face-off between [capitalist integration and integration of the peoples]. This face-off occurs from the setting of prices in the seed market to every governmental election. The enemies are the same, so to defeat them, we have to unite and undertake continent-wide actions.

A seventeen year old boy has been killed by Army troops before being falsely referred to as a guerrilla killed in combat. The Colombian Army has been responsible for killing more than 5,000 civilians in this way in a practice that is known in Colombia as ‘false-positives’. This latest killing comes after a new report found that the Armed Forces had killed twelve civilians in 2012 who were later presented as guerrillas. The Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos refuses to recognise that the practice continues as part of attempts to cleanse the image of Colombia’s Armed Forces.Anison Cardoso Florez was out hunting a Guagua – a typical Colombian animal – with his brother when he was shot dead on 4 June 2013 by the troops from the Batallion Energetico #5 from the Municipality of Bagre in Antioquia. His brother managed to escape. Claims that the young peasant farmer was a guerrilla were immediately ridiculed by those who knew him as Anison was an active member of his community and the local rural organisation AHERAMIGUA and he had rarely spent any time away from his village.This latest killing has confirmed what Colombian human rights organisations have been reporting on repeated occasions: that the Army practice of ‘false-positives’ continues

Israel’s Mossad chief meets head of Turkish intelligence

The head of Israel’s Mossad, Tamir Pardo, met secretly with the Turkish intelligence agency’s undersecretary, Hakan Fidan, on June 10 in Ankara, with Syria and Iran on the agenda.Pardo requested an appointment to meet with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Erdoğan, however, has not yet responded to this request. Fidan and Pardo shared information about the latest situation in Syria as well as the influence of Iran in the country. They also discussed intelligence sharing between the two countries at the meeting, which came before a significant meeting on the fate of Syria, the Geneva II summit set to take place in July. The sources also claimed to have information that Iranian Revolutionary Guards and the Syrian intelligence unit, al-Mukhaberat, are working against Turkey.Fidan and Pardo also reprotedly discussed the ongoing protests in Turkey, which started two weeks ago to oppose a development project in Istanbul’s Taksim Gezi Park and spread to the other parts of the country.
