Challenge at Zionist Christian Church in Sacramento Success http://charlesecarlson.com/challenge-at-zionist-christian-church-in-sacramento-success/
Jesus’ words, when he sent out 72 disciples two by two, like “sheep among wolves” in what might have been the first evangelical mission trip, are found in the 10th chapter of the book of Luke. He instructed them not to waste time with those who refused to listen. He said if a certain city “received them not,” they should move on, leaving a ringing proclamation and condemnation behind, “even the dust of your city which clings to us do we wipe off against you.”  They did not mince words or waste time on those who would not listen, and neither should we.Our challenge to Christian Zionist churches (1) must continue, especially on the internet and social media, where we are having increased success. More of our time will now be spent most productively in interaction with mainline church leaders who are beginning to understand the tragedy they are witnessing. Several serious and qualified persons have recently contacted us asking if we can help them start vigils in their City, and the answer is yes, and most welcome. We have held Vigil challenges at many Christians United For Israel spectacles and at dozens of radically committed Christian Zionist churches. We must now recognize that John Hagee is no longer widely respected, even in the evangelical Dispensational circles from which he came. He has become a rich, successful buffoon with a following among only a narrow fringe of State of Israel worshipers. Politically his call for war against Islam, wherever he finds Muslims, is useful only to the John McCain-like warmaking fringe of both parties. We should realize that even McCain does not want to be associated with Hagee’s maniacal war chant and Israel worship.Christians United For Israel was spawned by the State of Israel in July 1991, right after Operation Desert Storm, through one of Israel’s propaganda front organizations called Unity Coalition for Israel (UCFI).(2)  It was originally called National Unity Coalition for Israel but quietly changed its name by dropping the “National” because all the directors were Israelis. Christians United For Israel was then spun off and handed off to San Antonio Pastor John Hagee.Art Preisinger, a Lutheran minister associated with the Institute for the Study of Christian Zionism, attended  a “Night To Honor Israel” at Hagee’s Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas and had this to say: “From dramatic processions to keynote addresses; from offerings taken and offerings given — there was not a shred, a trace, a scintilla of Christianity in the proceedings. It (‘A Night to Honor Israel’) could well have been sponsored by the PTA or the Rotary Club.”  The fact that Jesus is left out of meetings that honor Israel is finally becoming recognized by some influential minorities in more than a few mainline Christian churches, Lutheran, Methodists, Presbyterians and Mennonite to name a few. Those who have so proclaimed may have combined memberships of perhaps 30 million members, which is no small minority!Out of necessity I would guess, CUFI has abandoned any real effort to follow Christ’s words in order to stand for and justify every evil act Israel perpetrates against the Palestinians (or to Americans) for occupation and virtual imprisonment to outright torture and murder. Hagee’s meetings attract so much Israeli support he is compelled to forget Jesus and replace it with the unspoken but clearly present, Israel is our god.Churches like Trinity Life Center that support Hagee’s meetings lavish praise on, and raise funds for Israel, but do not display enough Christianity to even mention. Jesus’ words of love, tolerance and peace represent a problem for them. rather than a purpose. As we learned from personal contact with its pastor, “Trinity” church might just as well rename itself Quad-Diety Life Center, for Father, Son, Holy Spirit, and Israel. We have long anticipated eventual help from the Mainline churches because they are free to see Israel as it is.  Recently some fifteen mainline denominations have asked Congress to halt military aid to Israel, because Israel simply will not stop occupying and bombing the children of Palestine.  One of these is the Presbyterian Church of America (PCUSA).(3)  And In 2004 the National Council of Churches published a valuable brochure, Why We Should Be Concerned About Christian Zionism. (4)
The mainline church has had truth at hand for a long time; it is only now waking up and taking notice. It is time for Project Strait Gate to move on, and at a time when Vigil and Challenge are just starting to be fun because friends want to join in. We must devote more effort to the support of positive voices within recovering mainline Christian denominations challenging military aid to Israel, and saying peace must begin with peace for the Palestinians. The Philistines, a biblical people (Gaza was the center of Philistine culture) have been denied the statehood promised to them in 1948.  Increasingly mainline missionaries and laymen have discovered what Christian Zionism is, and why it must be put back in its bottle.  Freedom for Palestinians will mark the end of Christian Zionism.A “church vigil,” for the benefit of new readers, is the delivering of usually unwelcome messages to a church leadership by a personal appearance at the church during worship hours. The messages are usually scriptural, printed on posters held up by the vigil participants. They are clearly understandable, in four words or less, and since they pointedly link to the church’s teachings, they are well understood by most of the congregation. We usually know what the pastor thinks and teaches before we arrive. Each message repeats a written one sent a few weeks ahead of the visit and is designed to drive a wedge between the mis-leaders and the followers being misled. When we take up what appears to be an adversary position in front of the church, displaying a clearly Christ-like message “BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS,” there can be no doubt that we are telling the congregation that its church leaders are ignoring these words of peace — words that all Christians believe came from the lips of Jesus. We know the Christian Zionist churches are, by definition, supporters of the serial wars being perpetrated primarily in only Israel’s interest. When we display the message “WHO WOULD JESUS BOMB?,” we are telling everyone within sight that the leaders of that church support those who are doing the bombing?  We have learned how to put this point forward to thousands of parishioners and their leaders, with our handful of volunteers. The Internet has added greatly to our exposure.Trinity Pastor Chuck Seielstad, dressed in formal dark blue, twice walked the 150 yards or so across the church parking lot to both greet and confront us where we stood on two sides of his mega church while the “Concert to Honor Israel” was going on inside.  As its Senior Pastor in charge of education, Seielstad is probably the key personality in this mega church and school. He informed us, somewhat condescendingly, that he has a PhD and reads the Bible in its “original Greek and Hebrew.”He also came as a benefactor, showing Christ-like love for us by bringing us water. This is a familiar pattern in many churches. He warned me, and our little group, to stay off the landscaped raised bank that surrounds the large parking lot of Trinity Life Center which “belongs to the church,” saying that we could use the sidewalk that runs on the outside of it on the South and East sides of the church property. Some churches bring coffee and donuts, and some ask to pray with us. We have developed answers for these always self-serving efforts to neutralize our message. I told Pastor Seielstad we would accept his water on condition that he would accept and watch to the end our classic DVD, Christian Zionism: The Tragedy and The Turning, Part 1.(5)  He agreed and accepted two copies. Later he came back and asked for two more copies, stating he planned to use it in a class he is teaching. Had he declined our material, we would have rejected his water even if thirsty. We normally tell church messengers bearing gifts, such as water, to send the gift they offer us to the Philistine children, many of whom never see clean water, because Israel controls every drop.Seielstad’s second visit of the day, ostensibly to see to our safety, gave me a chance to ask him two questions: My first question was, “Where in Jesus’ words do you find leave to help those who occupy and often kill the Palestinians?Seielstad responded with with a patented Christian Zionist dodge.  He said, “There is no occupation of Palestine…why?… because there is no country named Palestine and there never was.”  Note that I asked him a direct, faith-based question about Jesus’ words, and he gave me a political answer about statehood. He no doubt reasons, since the State of Israel and the US government (with others) have for 65 years prevented the United Nations from recognizing “Palestine” territory as a legal state, the people are not “occupied.” But when asked he said they do have no right to property, security, or life itself.   Pastor Seielstad went on to tell me that God gave the land to the “Jews” through Abraham, the standard land claim made by Christian Zionists, no matter what they call themselves.  Our video which Pastor Dave carried away explains the myth of the non-land grant that was never made to the non-Israelite State of Israel.  I hope he watches it.My last question was: “Do you really believe Ariel Sharon (former Prime Minister of Israel) has a direct bloodline to Abraham?” Pastor Chuck dodged, saying he did not come out to argue and he had duties inside.  It is almost inconceivable that a pastor in an $800 blue suit with PhD degrees in theology would not know his statements are false, that Israel does occupy the Palestinian people of West Bank and Gaza, and that God did not give the land to a country that did not exist for 3000 years, and that simply borrowed its name from a book, like the parents of every Paul, John, Mary, and Benjamin have done, does not confer land to them.  To call Seielstad a victim of self-deception gives him the benefit of the doubt, more than he deserves; it grants him ignorance as a cover. Our vigil at Trinity Life Center in Sacramento was a modest success, and it was fun because of good fellowship. Volunteers from several local and National Peace and Justice organizations unexpectedly arrived to help us. These included a young lady from Jewish Voice For Peace who rode her bike ten miles to get there, Allison Weir, founder of If Americans Only Knew and Chairman of Washington-based Council for the National Interest, and a Methodist Pastor from a local activist Mainline church joined us.  Everyone’s words and actions were exemplary. The turnout for the free “Concert to Honor Israel” may have been a disappointment for the sponsors; probably only about 1/3 of the members who normally attend the church services were there, judging from the number of cars in the parking lot.  However, CUFI has ramped up its program in Churches, hiring full time speakers and organizers over regions, and is now sponsoring rallies by various names, all to “honor Israel” one or two a day!   American Christians are Israel’s support base for its occupation of Palestine, and continued US military aid, as revealed in the Jerusalem Post article, “In praise of Christian Zionists,”(6)Radical Christian Zionism may be on the decline.  Those who believe the  state of Israel is the fulfillment of biblical prophecy, and that all the evidence and accounts of Israel’s abuse and occupation are imaginary, are aging fast and are failing to convince youth to take their places.  We have learned that the young adults in churches are the answer because they get their news more from social media.  We also look forward to help from our new big ally, the awakening mainline churches who are speaking out at last, and have no reason not to speak out.(7)

Farmers and Miners Strike Continue in Colombia http://www.prensa-latina.cu/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&idioma=2&id=1685141&Itemid=1
via Liliana Ximena
The strike in the Colombian region of Catatumbo, which has been held for weeks in the middle of farmer protests and many social outbreaks, was joined by the mining sector, which first day of strike left 2 civilian fatalities. In a communique published yesterday, the National Committee of Mining Strike denounced that 2 people died, one of them as consequence of a stroke for breathing tear gas launched by the Riot Police Squad in Risaralda departmentThe most harsh clashes took place in Irra region, where a dozen people were injured and at least 40 children remain hospitalized for the effects of the tear gas"The National Committee of Mining Strike firmly rejects the violent repression of the strike carried out by thousands of miners nationwide for the disastrous and anti-national policy lead by Juan Manuel Santos", said the workers of that sector in the communique.Artisanal miners from 80 municipalities of 18 regions keep roads blocked, among them those that connect Manizales-Medellin and Cali-Buenaventura, to claim the legalization of middle and small-scale companies, said local media. On the other hand, the nearly 16,000 farmers that have been on strike since June 11 in Catatumbo, at northern Santander, continue the demonstration that has become the largest and most complicated of Santos' management, said specialists.Congresspeople Ivan Cepeda and Angela Robledo arrived yesterday at Tibu, where most of the demonstrators are located, to try to mediate in the negotiations in the middle of the continuous repressions performed by the public force, which only in that municipality has 2,000 officers."We are willing to accompany and protect farmers from that arbitrariness, because it would be terrible that such actions happen again and lose more human lives", said Cepeda in a press release.Catatumbo demonstration, which began as a peaceful action, has left 4 fatalities and more than 50 injured farmers.
Ethiopia’s Rights Abuses ‘Being Ignored by US and UK Aid Agencies’DfID and USAid accused of overlooking complaints of human rights abuses by Ethiopians caught up in ‘villagisation’ scheme The UK Department for International Development (DfID) and USAid, the American aid agency, have been accused of ignoring evidence of human rights abuses allegedly linked to their support for a multibillion-dollar social services programme in Ethiopia.A report published on Wednesday by the US-based thinktank the Oakland Institute details a long list of grievances presented to aid officials from the UK and US by communities in the Lower Omo Valley in southern Ethiopia. They claim they suffered intimidation, beatings, rape, forced evictions and other abuses as a result of the government’s controversial “villagisation” resettlement programme, which seeks to clear land to make way for commercial investments. Donor agencies were given highly credible first-hand accounts of serious human rights violations during their field investigation, and they have chosen to steadfastly ignore these accounts,” says the report, written by Will Hurd, an NGO worker who served as a translator for a team of DfID and USAid officials on a visit to the region in January 2012.Transcripts of parts of these meetings, which have been made public alongside the report, show community members ignored aid officials’ questions about the state of education, development and health clinics, and repeatedly tried to bring the conversation back to the subject of abuse.According to the transcripts, one of the two DfID representatives present told community members:“[O]bviously we agree that it’s unacceptable – beatings and rapes and lack of consultation and proper compensation … [I] would raise very strongly with the government as the wrong way to do this. It just simply is wrong. It simply is wrong. Obviously, we totally agree and it’s worrying to hear about those things.”The allegations linking claims of abuse to aid funding centre around the relationship between Ethiopia’s Protection of Basic Services (PBS) programme and the government’s Voluntary Resettlement programme (villagisation).PBS, which has the support of several large international donors, is a multibillion-dollar social services project described as “expanding access and improving the quality of basic services in education, health, agriculture, water supply and sanitation”. Human rights campaigners have attacked donor support for PBS on the grounds that funds are also being used to plan and implement the villagisation programme as aid money is being spent on health, education and other services in the resettlement sites.“The problem is that these services will not be provided unless the people accept resettlement,” says the Oakland Institute report, which insists the two programmes are connected and cannot be neatly separated by donors who do not want their funding to appear tainted.Leigh Day & Co, the London-based law firm that last September took up the case of an Ethiopian farmer, “Mr O”, who claims he was forcibly evicted from his farm in Gambella, in the west of the country, argues that through its support for PBS, DfID helps finance the infrastructure and salaries required under villagisation.Another report, also published by the Oakland Institute on Wednesday, adds: “It is difficult not to conclude that DfID and USAid have decided to support the current policy of the Ethiopian government, their strategic ally in the Horn of Africa, despite the major human rights abuses this government is perpetrating in the Lower Omo Valley.“By doing so, they are willful accomplices and supporters of a development strategy that will have irreversible devastating impacts on the environment and natural resources and will destroy the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of indigenous people.”The UK spent £261.5m on aid to Ethiopia in 2012-13. In DfID’s annual report, it said: “Ethiopia has experienced impressive growth and development in recent years, but remains poor and vulnerable. The UK government continues to track and raise concerns about limitations on civil and political rights. The government of Ethiopia’s approach to political governance presents challenges.”Last November, the development secretary, Justine Greening, said DfID had not been able to substantiate allegations of human rights abuse received during its visit to Lower Omo in January 2012, and that it would return to the area to examine these further. This has yet to happen, though there are plans for a visit this year.A DfID spokesperson said on Wednesday: “It is completely wrong to suggest that British development money is used to force people from their homes. Our assistance has helped millions of people in Ethiopia, a country that has suffered famine and instability over many decades. We condemn all human rights abuses and, where we have evidence, we raise our concerns at the very highest level …“To suggest that agencies like DfID should never work on the ground with people whose governments have been accused of human rights abuses would be to deal those people a double blow.”Meanwhile, the World Bank has decided to undertake a full investigation into allegations that its support for the PBS programme has financed human rights abuses in Ethiopia. The bank has previously denied any connection between PBS and villagisation, but its internal watchdog, the Inspection Panel, argues that this is not a “tenable position”, saying: “The two programmes depend on each other, and may mutually influence the results of the other.”The panel had recommended an investigation earlier this year after receiving a complaint from indigenous communities in Gambella describing incidents of intimidation, beatings, arrest and torture.
Europe's justice and interior ministers push for closer relations between internal security authorities and industry: The Council of the European Union is hoping to strengthen the involvement of Europe's internal security agencies in "security-related research and industrial policy", calling on Member States' authorities to provide more support for the European Network of Law Enforcement Technology Services (ENLETS), a working group that last year agreed on a series of "priority areas" that include drones, covert surveillance, remote vehicle stopping and non-lethal weapons.
A lethal 'non-lethal' weapon (Corporate Watch, link): "With tear gas a prominent weapon used to repress the recent uprisings in North Africa and the Middle East, the multi-billion global market has been expanding. Reported incidents of tear gas-related deaths and injuries have prompted critique of its classification as 'non-lethal' and renewed calls for a ban on its use."
UK-USA: DATA SURVEILLANCE: Statement from the Intelligence and Security Committee clearly GCHQ on use of PRISM: Statement on GCHQ’s Alleged Interception of Communications under the US PRISM Programme (pdf): "It has been alleged that GCHQ circumvented UK law by using the NSA’s PRISM programme to access the content of private communications. From the evidence we have seen, we have concluded that this is unfounded." and: Inquiry into snooping laws as committee clears GCHQ: Intelligence and security committee also confirms GCHQ's use of NSA Prism surveillance material for first time (Guardian, link). INDONESIAN THINK TANK...Overview of the failure of world police theories in Syria Author : M Arief Pranoto, Research Associate of Global Future Institute (GFI) http://www.theglobal-review.com/content_detail.php?lang=en&id=12262&type=99#.Ufb0pqzhfbo
Yes. De jure, Assad seems to win the battle in spite of political studies it is not the case, that there is no final step in the political (war). In other words, the rebels have now possibly consolidated to plan strategies and then whether they would "attack" the sovereignty of Syria or not, all this depends on the Assad leadership on how to defend his country's sovereignty. At least one point to be noted, that the defeat of terrorism under the guise of religion in the Syrian "jihad arena" is a real proof that Assad is able to maximize his country's geostrategy and geopolitics in the global politics. In this brief article, such terms as opposition, terrorists and / or rebels are used interchangeably because the reality on the ground is no different, that they are armed gangs (mercenaries) who are trained, financed and supported by the West under the pretext of upholding democracy, spreading sectarian issues between Shiites and Sunnis, or under the guise of fighting for human rights, etc. in scenario to topple the Bashar al Assad's government. From the tactical aspect, the Syrian war (2011-2013) was a failure of "cricket fighting" tricks --- borrowing a phrase from Dina Y. Sulaiman and Rijal Mumazziq --- of Divide et impera applied by the West. From the strategic aspect, this is the "out of control" of the U.S. asymmetric attack, or "out of control of the Obama's "smart power" so-called the Arab Spring in the Silk Road. Although asymmetric patterns (mass movements) in the previous countries like Yemen, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt could successfully displace the regimes and change them into new 'dolls', the facts on the ground the people in the countries have remained in turmoil. This is the revolution volume II. The world views it as the REVIVAL OF ISLAM.Again, such terms as smart power, asymmetric, or irregular in this article are also used interchangeably because their meaning is the same, namely the Western colonial methods of non-military pattern.Conflict in the Assad era is interesting to be taken into account. Different points of view can be used to deal with the stages of events. From the study of global politics for example, Syria is actually just a proxy war because those involving themselves in the real battle are the superpowers, the battle between West and East. West in this case is the U.S. and its allies, while the East is Russia, China, Iran, etc. despite it could not be said like this, in principle that is the fact.Inevitably that the geopolitics of pipeline is a major factor why Syria becomes target by the world superpowers in addition to considering its position in the "nodes" of the Silk Road. How the oil and gas pipeline in Syria, is geographically between countries and even across continents. It is very tempting indeed. While the Silk Road itself has become the legend since ancient times, as it is the economic and military trajectory in the world. It is the 'wet' path but sacred in the eyes of the global capitalists. Controlling the Silk Road is the same controlling the world because it is the path connecting between the East and the West. This is geopolitics leverage owned and being the Syrian destiny. Then, schematically, the defeat of the rebels in Syria is a miscalculation --- not to say a failure --- grand strategy titled U.S. Military Roadmap from Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Iran, Somalia and Sudan, as presented at the Pentagon by Gen. Wesley Clark, former NATO commander. And the final analysis of this brief article is that the Assad's victory in the 2011-2013 war in his country is actually a real picture of the collapse of world police theories espoused by Uncle Sam!

Syria: Terrorists fired mortar shell on school in Homs  http://www.syrianews.cc/syria-terrorists-mortar-homs/
A group of foreign-backed terrorists or/and jihadists have fired a mortar shell on a school building in the western part of the Syrian city of Homs. The horrible attack by the terrorists has killed at least three Syrian civilians and wounded several other civilians that were in the school building when the terrorists and militants fired this mortar shell on the school in the Western area of Homs. The group of terrorists fired the mortar shell on the Maysaloun School in the suburb of al-Dablan in theSyrian city of Homs and killed at least three civilians by this attack on a school for Syrian kids today. The Maysaloun School in the al-Dablan neighbourhood of Homs is currently used as reception centre for tens of displaced Syrian families and thus, the attack on this school in the western city of Homs was certainly targeted carried out, and the group of foreign-backed terrorists wanted to injure or kill Syrian civilians who have searched shelter with their families and who previously ran away from the terrorist groups and have left their villages, towns and houses behind them. The wounded civilians were taken to a hospital near this area of the city of Homs after the attack by the terrorist groups.According to the report by the Syrian state news agency SANA, an official sources from the place of attack said, that the horrible attack by this terrorist group on a school has not only caused the death of three people but also caused extensive material damage to the Maysaloun School in the suburb of al-Dabla, Homs.In addition, this has not been the only attack carried out in the Syrian city of Homs today with mortar shells by the foreign-backed terrorists and Islamists. A group of armed terrorists also fired a mortar shell on the Radio and TV Centre in the same Syrian city today. The attack resulted in two injured civilians in the Radio and TV Centre of Homs. Also another mortar shell was fired on the vegetables market in the suburb of al-Khder, Homs. The mortar shell injured one civilian and also caused damages to the nearby parking cars and buildings in the district of al-Khader in Homs.At least, several Syrian Army units have destroyed some so-called terrorist hideouts in several areas in Homs today. The units of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) were able to eliminate a number of terrorists and jihadists in these districts of Homs. Of course, the weapons and ammunition of the terrorists have been destroyed after the units of the Syrian army succeeded to kill a lot of them.

WAR CRIMINAL ELLIOT ABRAMS''FUCK INTERNATIONAL LAWS AND OUR VIOLATIONS'' ... On Israel, the EU Sides With … Assad? Author: Elliott Abrams
This week the EU took a stance that it heralded as pro-peace, pro-"peace process," and anti-settlement. Henceforth, new guidelines require all 28 member nations to refuse any grants, scholarships, prizes, or funding to entities in Jewish settlements in the West Bank. Or any part of Jerusalem that was not part of Israel prior to the 1967 war. Or the Golan Heights.EU hostility to the West Bank settlements is not new, but this formulation is remarkable. First, the stumbling block to negotiations right now is the Palestinian refusal to come to the table. How does this punitive measure against Israel motivate Mahmoud Abbas to start talking? Does it not in fact signal him to keep staying away, only to see the EU hit Israel harder and harder?Second, it is politically stupid in Israeli terms (as Obama policy has been) because it lumps together the major blocs that Israel will certainly keep in any peace deal, and the small settlements east of the security barrier, places that Israel will have to give up. Many Israelis would back a freeze of some sort for those small settlements and do believe those settlements will go if there is ever a final agreement, but they will not back a freeze in the major blocs. Those towns are thriving and will always be Israeli, so why punish them—and again, why punish them now because Abbas won't talk?

BRITTAINS ''OUTGOING'' HEAD OF ARMED FORCES... Syria no-fly zone needs ground control: UK military chief  http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5jDy4maRuqsS4-R4HQ8cfx-E6-sKA?docId=CNG.48df6d1731e3e97efb3f2614d4e37b8b.d1
Britain's outgoing head of the armed forces has warned that attempts to impose a no-fly zone over Syria would be unsuccessful without establishing ground control, in an interview published in Thursday's Daily Telegraph.Britain is at the forefront of international efforts to topple the regime of President Bashar al-Assad, and has promised to supply rebels with equipment to protect them against chemical weapons attacks.
But in his interview with the Telegraph, General David Richards said: "If you wanted to have the material impact on the Syrian regime's calculations that some people seek, a no-fly zone per se is insufficient."You have to be able, as we did successfully in Libya, to hit ground targets. You have to take out their air defences."Richards stressed that a "ground control zone" would need to be established and that tanks and armoured personnel carriers would have to be "taken out"."If you want to have the material effect that people seek you have to be able to hit ground targets and so you would be going to war if that is what you want to do," he added.A lack of international consensus and the splintered nature of rebel forces made it difficult to forge a military solution, the 61-year-old general added.Richards retires on Thursday after a military career spanning more than 40 years.
CIA FRONT MEDIA MAGHREBIA: Libyan weapons fuel Syria bloodshed
Libyan weapons and foreign fighters are increasingly finding their way to the front lines of the Syrian conflict, where tens of thousands of civilians have died over three years of war. A number of recent reports have highlighted the leading role played by Libyans in arming rebel fighters in Syria. "News of the discovery of smuggled weapons from Libya to other countries has become routine for Libyans. It is sounding like the weather bulletin provided by our television stations every day," Tripoli resident Younes El-Borai said in response to the latest news on arms smuggling. There are no reliable official figures about this phenomenon but Libyan authorities have expressed concern on more than one occasion[[[[[[[On June 18th, the fourth battalion of Libya's Shield forces announced the successful arrest of a group of outlaws in possession of 34 rockets in the city of Gharyan in the north-west of the country. On June 2nd, Ali Zidan revealed that national security forces in Tobruk had foiled a smuggling operation of dozens of rockets that were on their way to the Egyptian border. Zidan said at the time that these weapons included 10 Milan rockets and about 50 Grad rockets as well as thermal rockets. They were discovered near the border town of Jaghbub]]]]]]. Zidan added that his country paid special importance to border control as was an issue of national sovereignty. He noted that a civilian advisory panel to protect the borders sent by the European Union was set arrive in Libya to provide technical support in the field of border protection, pursuant to the agreement between Libya and the EU. Earlier this year, the United Nations published a report that noted Libyan weapons were spreading beyond the country's borders, from Mali to the Levant. The February 15th report from a panel created to investigate breaches of the Libyan arms embargo said weapons were sent from Libya to Syria "through networks and routes passing through either Turkey or northern Lebanon". "Transfers of military materiel have been organised from various locations in Libya, including Misrata and Benghazi. The significant size of some shipments and the logistics involved suggest that representatives of the Libyan local authorities might have at least been aware of the transfers, if not actually directly involved," the UN report stated. The report also noted Syria was a "prominent destination for Libyan fighters" who have "joined brigades as individuals or through networks to support the Syrian opposition". The UN cited several specific examples where Libyan equipment was shipped to Syria, including one case where 400 tons of material was transferred from Benghazi to the Syrian opposition aboard the Al Entisar fishing boat. Abdul Basit Haroun Shehibi, commander of Abu Salim Martyrs' Brigade, confessed last month to Reuters that he stood behind the largest arms' shipments that have been transferred from Libya to the rebels in Syria. "These shipments are transported by air to neighbouring countries, and then smuggled across the border," he said. Haroun Shehibi confirmed that he sends aid and weapons to support Syrians striving for the same freedom he fought for during the Libyan revolution. Haroun Shehibi, who was a UK resident during the rule of Kadhafi, returned during the Libyan revolution to participate with rebels in toppling the regime. He formed the Abu Slim Martyrs' Brigade in Benghazi to commemorate the massacre in Abu Slim Prison. Images posted on Facebook purportedly show him travelling to Syria last August to deliver a shipment of weapons. Before forming his brigade, Haroun Shehibi joined the "February 17 Brigade" led by Ismael al-Sallabi, who is currently wanted by international justice for his involvement in war crimes. During the first days after the fall of the Libyan regime, former intelligence official Rami al-Obeidi said that Abdul Basit Haroun Shehibi (real name Qais Haroun) "controlled the state security agency via his brigade and the 17 February Brigade led by Muslim Brotherhood member Ismael al-Sallabi." Al-Obeidi told Al Watan Al Arabi in November 2011 that "Shehibi sympathises with al-Qaeda". Young Libyans are also being caught up in the war in Syria. A June report by the Washington Institute for Near East Policy found that more Libyans had died in the Syrian conflict than any other group of foreigners. Citing data from Flashpoint Global Partners, the think-tank said Libya was "the undisputed leader" in the number of foreigners killed fighting in Syria, representing more than one in five foreign jihadists slain in the fighting. "It is hard to dispute the outsized role that Libyan fighters have played in the Syrian uprising," the report stated.
Syrian Unrest Could Have Broad Geopolitical Impact
Since the Arab Spring, chaos seems to have further engulfed the already volatile Middle East.   Back in 1982, a former Israeli Foreign Ministry official forecast in a little noticed policy paper the disintegration of many of the countries of the Middle East with the violent redrawing of borders and the emergence of smaller, weaker states based on greater ethnic and religious homogeneity. Thirty years later, as Syria continues its sectarian civil war, some are arguing that prediction is taking shape as state-based nationalism is declining and something larger and older is taking over.

Hisham Jaber, a retired Lebanese army general and now the director of a political think tank in Beirut, believes the likely outcome of the civil war is the breakup of Syria. He foresees Alawites, members of an offshoot sect of Shia Islam, and Christians cleaving together along Syria’s coast, and Kurds and Sunni Muslims establishing separate states of their own. That would have devastating repercussions across the region, he warns.“In my opinion the unity of Lebanon, of Turkey, of Jordan, of Iraq will not be secure or guaranteed at all,” he said.  American University political science professor Bassel Saloukh, based in Lebanon, agrees. He says the Arab Spring-uprisings, along with the geopolitical rivalry of Sunni Saudi Arabia and Shiite Iran, have pushed the region into unchartered and dangerous waters. He suspects the sectarianism that has been unleashed will mean at the very least the end of strong unitary states for many Middle East countries. “I think the only way to maintain them as political entities, as political units is by experimenting with some kind of institutionalized ethnic-sectarian power-sharing agreement,” he said.He says Lebanon may well be seen by some as a model for power-sharing arrangements by other countries - from Syria to Jordan. “What Lebanon serves today is as a model for countries like Iraq, Bahrain, Yemen, Syria and Jordan in the future. Those countries where state power has collapsed, there is no more consensus on the different ethnic sectarian groups living together,” he said.

Israel to Sign Guns for Refugees Deal With African States
Writing this blog as long as I have, I’ve seen some pretty low blows from the Israeli government.  But this one ranks right up there.  Those of you old enough remember Ronald Reagan’s arms for hostages deal with the Iranians–now, Israel proposes an arms for refugees exchange.  And it stinks to high heaven.Ynet reports that the government is close to inking a deal with three African states (who are likely Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Uganda) who will take “tens of thousands” of ‘undesirable’ African refugees from Israel in return to Israeli weapons and training.  Isn’t that neat and tidy!?  Israel gets rids of what MK Miri Regev called a “cancer in its midst” and contributes to the rising tide of mayhem and violence in countries like South Sudan and Eritrea, already beset by instability and civil war. There was a time back in the 1960s when Israel actually offered aid that was constructive to newly independent African states.  Of course, this aid wasn’t done for purely altruistic reasons.  Israel also wanted to cozy up to these states because they insulated it from the charge that Israel was oppressing similar types of states in the Middle East.  Africa also offered a rich field for Israel’s intelligence operations and satisfied some of its need for raw materials for its military-industrial complex. This story should be linked to another important one reported yesterday.  The Israeli government revealed there are 7,000 registered arms merchants plying Israeli weapons to precisely these sorts of unstable states, making Israel the sixth largest arms merchant in the world.  What the government refused to do in response to a court case, was reveal the names of these merchants of death.  It claimed that doing so would endanger them and expose them to potential terrorist attacks. While this possibility is remote, it’s much more likely that these arms dealers would be exposed to the shame and obloquy of the world community.  And they should have to face such exposure.  Israel and the nations where they ply their trade have the right to know who these people are.  While the U.S. goes after the Victor Bout’s of the world, it does little or nothing to reduce the proliferation of Israel’s stable of sophisticated, lethal weaponry.  These 7,000 go scott free because Israel is an ally, which Russia isn’t.
REBEL FALSE FLAG ALERT- NGO: Nine Syrians ‘executed’ at checkpoint
 https://now.mmedia.me/lb/en/nowsyrialatestnews/ngo-nine-syrians-executed-at-checkpoint
At least nine Syrians, including a child, were executed by regime forces at a checkpoint in Damascus province, a watchdog said on Tuesday."Nine citizens, including a child, were shot dead by regime forces near the town of Qara, in the Qalamun area of Damascus province, yesterday [Monday] evening," the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. The nine were “executed" at a military checkpoint in the area, the group said, citing local activists.Video footage shot by activists and distributed by the Observatory showed bodies laid out on the white floor of a room, some of them partially covered with a piece of white plastic sheeting.Several appeared to have been shot in the head, and others in the chest
.[ed notes;ok so according to the cia/mi6  front ''syrian observatory'', basically these citizens and a child were executed at a military checkpoint, but yet so called opposition activists then filmed them dead in a room possibly next to it,afterwards???where did the military go???did they see any syrian soldiers commiting this act?no! let me guess, there were sandbags close by it,therefore SAA is to be accused right?is this the logic?the opposition thinks people are stupid really, can you imagine the syrian army manning a checkpoint, gunning down around a dozen civilians and a child, then leaving the evidence ,traces of the checkpoint and leaving scene for the opposition to formulate their own narrative blaming regime?..anyone buy that?
.In the central province of Homs members of a Syrian pro-regime militia gunned down seven Sunni men working on reconciliation overnight, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Tuesday."Seven men belonging to a reconciliation committee, including two retired officers and the imam of a mosque in the town of Zara… were killed yesterday by members of the People’s Committee," the group said, referring to a pro-regime armed group.[[[[[Regime-authorized reconciliation teams have sprung up across Syria, working on grassroots mediation and negotiated truces in various areas]]]]]]
[ed notes;think about it,why would regime forces or pro assad groups kill ''reconciliation committees''?what interest would that serve the govt?it wouldnt!it would serve the rebels however, who refuse any reconciliation efforts and talks...
The team targeted on Monday had successfully mediated before, the Observatory said, and was working to smooth ties between Sunnis and Alawites in religiously-mixed Homs. Many Syrian Sunnis back the Sunni-led uprising against President Bashar al-Assad, who is Alawite and the conflict has led to increasing sectarian tensions in the country, particularly in Homs. The Observatory said the group of mediators was on their way to a meeting in the town of Tal Kalakh. They were killed at the entrance to the Alawite village of Hajar al-Abyad, which the Observatory described as “one of the most important strongholds for the shabbiha [pro-regime militants] in the region".The group distributed a video showing black body bags tagged with pieces of paper bearing each man’s name.
[ed notes:ok so lets break this down...a team of mediators who sought to bring peace between sunnis and shiite, were killed at entrance of alawite village?but interestingly enough, again we have opposition activists coming right behind the crime, and filming it..meanwhile those supposed pro regime militias allowed people to come film their crimes at doorstep to their village, knowing where the blame would be laid.is this the logic?can anyone swallow these kinds of narratives seriously, without poiting out to the lunacy behind the subsequent accusations by opposition activists?

9/11 NEWS ... World Trade Center developer seeks billions in 9/11 damages from airlines http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/07/15/19489403-world-trade-center-developer-seeks-billions-in-911-damages-from-airlines?lite
A federal judge in New York heard initial arguments Monday in a trial in which the developer of the World Trade Center argues that he should get billions of dollars from the airlines whose jets plowed into the Twin Towers almost 12 years ago.New York developer Larry Silverstein's company, World Trade Center Properties, which is still paying on a 99-year lease on the destroyed towers, has already collected more than $4 billion in insurance from the destruction of the iconic site on Sept. 11, 2001 Now he's seeking billions more from United and American airlines, Boeing Co. and several other aviation and security companies. U.S. District Judge Alvin Hellerstein — who's in charge of most of the hundreds of 9/11-related cases — said he would rule after closing arguments Wednesday in the non-jury trial. The legal issue in the trial — which has been on the docket since April 2008 — is whether the insurance money Silverstein has already collected should offset the damages he says the airlines owe him.The airlines say letting him collect damages from them in addition to insurance would amount to double dipping, and they argue that Silverstein has already collected enough money to rebuild the Trade Center better than before. Silverstein contends that those are unrelated issues and says his expenses to rebuild the site have far outweighed what he's collected in insurance. If Hellerstein sides with Silverstein, the next step could be a full liability trial — one that could put the entire pre-9/11 U.S. aviation system back under a microscope.Silverstein's suit claims that Boeing was liable in designing the jets; that the security systems at Boston's Logan Airport (where United Flight 175 originated) and at the Portland, Maine, airport (where American Flight 11 originated) were liable for failing to intercept the hijackers on 9/11; and that the airlines were liable for failing to protect passengers and property after the hijackers took over.(ed notes:hes suing airlines for failed security wich were provided by israhelli companies of course, how convenient!!
The judge has previously ruled that if Silverstein eventually wins such a trial, the most he could get is an extra $3.5 billion. [ed notes:a jewish judge presiding iver case, gee i wonder if he will win case?lol

ZIONIST DOG BOLTON: 'Israel should have attacked Iran yesterday' http://www.jpost.com/Iranian-Threat/News/John-Bolton-Israel-should-have-attacked-Iran-yesterday-319945
“Israel should have attacked Iran yesterday – every day that goes by puts Israel in greater danger, every day Iran makes more progress,” John Bolton, a former US ambassador to the UN, told The Jerusalem Post in an interview on Monday. “I can understand why Israel wants us to take action, but the longer Israel waits for something that is not going to happen, the greater the danger Israel is in,” the senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute said. The US and Israel cannot expect to have perfect intelligence about Iran’s nuclear capabilities, but if Israel attacked Iran after it gained that capability, there could be “nuclear retaliation,” he said.
[ed notes;here is what a prominant likudnik commenattor said regarding boltons statement at israelmatzav .... I'm with Bolton on this. The problem is how to time the attack. This could be a good time. The world is busy with Egypt and Syria (and unfortunately, the 'Palestinians').
FBI bars Florida from releasing autopsy report in shooting of Todashev, friend of Marathon bombing suspect
A Florida medical examiner's office said Tuesday that the FBI has ordered the office not to release its autopsy report of a Chechen man fatally shot by a Boston FBI agent in May because of the federal agency's active internal investigation into cover-up of his death. The medical examiner's office said it completed the autopsy report on Ibragim Todashev, a friend of suspected Boston Marathon bomber, on July 8 and that the report was "ready for release." The agent shot and killed Todashev on May 22 in his Orlando apartment during an interrogation related to the Boston Marathon bombings. The FBI and the Justice Department are conducting an internal inquiry into the shooting, but critics have called for an independent inquiry, questioning the blanket of secrecy surrounding the case
