MEP: 'We need to reform global governance'http://www.euractiv.com/en/opinion/mep-need-reform-global-governance/article-186815

So what would be the long-term strategy for the committee?  The long-term strategy of financial supervision should prioritise the EU's role in governance such as the IMF.Mainly because it would mean that the individual rights of some member states would be reduced as well as the total weight of the European voiceBut I strongly believe that this is the price to pay if you want the IMF to play the role it should be playing and if you want all relevant parties to be considered equally

Like IMF, EU plots to revive Tobin taxhttp://www.euractiv.com/en/financial-services/imf-eu-plots-revive-tobin-tax/article-187970#

"If this crisis has a silver lining, then it is the increased support for using tax to raise revenues, especially a Tobin tax and curbing tax avoidance," Geoff Lloyd, senior adviser at the OECD's Centre for Tax Policy and Administration, told a hearing at the European Parliament yesterday (2 December).
