Clinton's Latin American clangers http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/cifamerica/2010/mar/05/hillary-clinton-latin-america

But she has been even more diplomatically clumsy that Bush, who at least recognised that there were serious problems and knew what not to say. "The Honduras crisis has been managed to a successful conclusion," Clinton said in Buenos Aires, adding that "it was done without violence."This is rubbing salt into her hosts' wounds, as they see the military overthrow of President Mel Zelaya last June, and subsequent efforts by the US to legitimise the dictatorship there as not only a failure but a threat to democracy throughout the region.

It is also an outrageous thing to say, given the political killings, beatings, mass arrests, and torture that the coup government used in order to maintain power and repress the pro-democracy movement. The worst part is that they are still committing these crimes. The Brazilians also rejected Clinton's rather undiplomatic efforts to pressure them to join Washington in calling for new sanctions against Iran. "It is not prudent to push Iran against a wall," said Brazilian president Lula da Silva." The prudent thing is to establish negotiations.""We will not simply bow down to an evolving consensus if we do not agree," Amorim said at a press conference with Clinton.

Spy chips hidden in 2.5 MILLION dustbins: 60pc rise in electronic bugs as council snoopers plan pay-as-you-throw tax http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1255565/Spy-chips-hidden-2-5-million-dustbins-council-snoopers-plan-pay-throw-tax.html

The growing threat of a stealth tax on the rubbish we throw away was exposed by startling figures yesterday.More than 2.5million homes now have wheelie bins fitted with microchips to weigh their contents. This is an increase of nearly two-thirds in just a year. The bins, which can be electronically identified and weighed, are designed for 'pay-as-you-throw' rubbish tax schemes.

US creates terror groups, ex-intelligence chief says http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id=120002&sectionid=351020101

Former head of Pakistan's ISI spy agency, Hamid Gul, says US intelligence agencies are seeking to foment unrest in Iran and train terrorist groups. Gul said Wednesday Washington is supporting groups like the Pakistan-based Jundallah terrorist group. Gul was said: “US intelligence agencies pursued just one goal by ..provoking unrest and instability in Iran." Gul also accused Washington and its allies of seeking to strain ties between Iran and Pakistan.

Gul’s remarks come days after Iranian security forces arrested Jundallah ringleader Abdolmalek Rigi on a flight from the United Arab Emirates to Kyrgyzstan. Following his arrest, Rigi talked about offers of unlimited support by the CIA, saying the Americans "promised to give us a base along the border with Afghanistan near Iran." Rigi's group has claimed responsibility for numerous terrorist attacks in Iran, including murders, armed robbery, kidnappings, sabotage and bombings.

U.S. vows to assign blame if Israel-PA talks fail http://haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1154406.html

The United States government has committed to playing a role in indirect talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, and promised that if the talks were to fail, the U.S. will assign blame and take action, according to a document sent by the U.S. to the Palestinian Authority, which Haaretz obtained on Friday.

The U.S. government sent the document to the Palestinians responding to their inquires regarding the U.S. initiative to launch indirect talks between Israel and the Palestinians. We expect both parties to act seriously and in good faith. If one side, in our judgment, is not living up to our expectations, we will make our concerns clear and we will act accordingly to overcome that obstacle," it was written.

comment-assign blame?the blame lies with the us government whos breaching and violating several laws ,like harkin ammendment, symmington ammendment, glenn act, wich prohibit any aid or military assistance to a nuclear country refusing to sign with npt or trading nuclear technology....also there will NEVER be concessions by Israel regarding the settlements, - a surefire end to any peace talks. And there will NEVER come a day when the US openly blames Israel for anything. Understand that and recognize the farce that is going on

Israel protests hate-filled postcards from Spanish kids http://www.jpost.com/Israel/Article.aspx?id=169885

Israel on Sunday formally protested to Spain’s ambassador in Tel Aviv against what appeared to be an orchestrated campaign whereby school children are sending dozens of anti-Israel and anti-Semitic postcards to Israel’s ambassador in Madrid.

Naor Gilon, the Foreign Ministry’s deputy director-general for western Europe, phoned Spanish ambassador Alvaro Iranzo to protest the postcards, which carried messages such as “why do you kill children?”, “Jews kill for money,” and “Leave the country for the Palestinians.”

Gilon told Iranzo that it was necessary to ensure that Spanish school children were not being “brainwashed,” and Iranzo – according to Israeli officials – replied that this was obviously a private initiative and not something condoned by Spain’s education ministry.
