Over 130,000 cases of Diabetes linked to soda consumption http://snardfarker.ning.com/profiles/blogs/over-130000-cases-of-diabetes?xg_source=activity

New research reveals that over the last decade, soda consumption has conservatively caused 130,000 new cases of diabetes and14,000 new cases of heart disease. The study’s senior author, Dr. Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo, associate professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco says: "The finding suggests that any kind of policy that reduces consumption might have a dramatic health benefit."

The American Beverage Association says this study hasn't been published in a peer-reviewed medical journal and therefore doesn't count. The lobby group claims soda consumption doesn't cause diabetes or heart disease because "both heart disease and diabetes are complex conditions with no single cause and no single solution." Critics blast the lobbyists’ defense, saying High-Fructose Corn Syrup -- sometimes dubbed "liquid Satan" -- should be considered a dietary poison that causes disease while contributing to nutritional deficiencies that accelerate disease.
