At 12:30 p.m. yesterday, the Irish police were overseeing barricades around the Israeli embassy. Outside the entrance a handful of people stood holding banners and flags, the logo of Sinn Féin, Ireland’s nationalist party so integral to the Northern Ireland peace process among them. It is unsurprising a strong affinity to the people of Gaza exists in Ireland.
