NYT planted story on Afghan mineral wealth to prolong U.S. occupation, spur Petraeus presidential bid (Video) http://www.voltairenet.org/article166074.html

As its title suggests, the following analysis sheds new light on Obama’s recent dismissal of General McChrystal. comment-theres no question this was to prolong the war but the mineral riches of afghanistan been known for many years, including usgs reports from few years back...USGS Release: Significant Potential for Undiscovered Resources http://www.usgs.gov/newsroom/article.asp?ID=1819
