Protesters to Boycott UK Census over links to Lockheed Martin http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/feb/19/census-boycott-lockheed-martin

UK protesters say they’re prepared to face a $1,500 fine by refusing to fill in a census questionnaire drafted by US arms giant Lockheed Martin. Siân Berry, a former Green party member said: "The information being collected ..including questions on sources of income and place of birth, would be ideal fodder for the kind of anti-terror analyses being carried out by Lockheed, and could lead to a database identifying thousands of us as potential threats." Lockheed Martin, which is involved in surveillance and data processing for the CIA and FBI, has provided private contract interrogators to Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq and Guantánamo. All US-based companies are subject to the USA Patriot Act, which grants the US government access to any data in the company's possession. Campaigners have warned this could give the US government access to detailed and personal data on the UK's entire population
