Venezuelan representative to UN denounces terrorism from imperial powers http://www.abn.info.ve/node/64472

The United States carries out actions “that hinder civic, political, economic and cultural rights of the peoples,” stressed this Sunday the representative of Venezuela to the United Nations, Jorge Valero, during his speech at the International Conference Against Terrorism, held in Tehran, Iran.Valero pointed out that “the sort of terrorism implemented by imperial powers violates countries" sovereignties, rules and the manners regulating armed conflicts,” such as the protection to civilians and war prisoners.

The diplomat underscored that thanks to said way to behave, the imperialism “discards any kind of peaceful solution to conflicts, as established in the Charter of the United Nations.”Moreover, Valero reiterated the extradition request made by Venezuela to the United States of the well-known terrorist Luis Posada Carriles, who was responsible for blowing a Cuban airplane in 1976, killing 73 people.In the encounter, the governments of Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan announced that they will all join to cooperate in the fight against terrorism which has killed thousand of people.

The three countries committed to eliminate the extremism, militarism and terrorism from their countries, but also to reject any kind of foreign intervention in the region, as read in a joint statement.In this regard, the Iranian Foreign Affairs Minister Ramin Mehmanparast underscored that the goal is to assume the leading role in the fight against terrorism within the Muslim world, but without the interference of the United States.The international summit was attended by representatives of about 80 countries and organizations from all around the world.
