VIDEO-For Whom the Bell Tolls: The Ominous Sound of ”Freedom” http://thepassionateattachment.com/2011/06/28/the-ominous-sound-of-freedom/

During their post-revolutionary commercial tour of Tunisia and Egypt, Senators John McCain and John Kerry were invited to ring the opening bell at the Cairo Stock Exchange. George Soros & Co. must be pleased that Obama got Egypt right in the end. That the “Arab Spring” appears to have sown a bountiful harvest for the financial oligarchs shouldn’t surprise anyone, though. As I wrote on April 22: Pro-Israel democracy promoters like Larry Diamond envisage Turkey’s Justice and Development Party (AKP) as a model for post-revolutionary political parties in the Middle East and North Africa.

Here’s why the likes of George Soros backs the Arab uprisings, as well as a taste of what Arab protestors can look forward to:Over the past decade the most dynamic country in the Middle East has been Turkey. Led by a liberal democratic regime of Islamic inspiration, Turkey has led the region in GDP growth and in the production of billionaires.

The Turkish economic performance has been presented by the World Bank and the IMF as a model for the post dictatorial regimes in the Arab world – ‘high growth’, a diversified economy based on the growing concentration of wealth. Turkey has 35% more billionaires than the Gulf and North African states combined. The ‘secret’ of Turkish growth is the high rates of investments in diverse industries and the intensive exploitation of labor. The IMF-approved Turkish model is essentially the Chicago model, better known as the so-called Washington Consensus.
