Clinton honours Lantos by continuing the Israeli guardian’s legacy of “democracy promotion” http://thepassionateattachment.com/2011/07/02/clinton-honours-lantos-by-continuing-the-israeli-guardians-legacy-of-democracy-promotion/

Hillary Clinton could hardly have given her lastest hypocritical pro-Arab Spring speech at a more appropriate venue. Attending the inauguration of a human rights institute in Budapest honouring the late Congressman Tom Lantos of California, the U.S. Secretary of State urged “emerging democracies” to “show solidarity with those in the streets of Belarus, in Libya and around the world.”

Until his death in 2008, Congressman Lantos was, as one former U.S. diplomat put it, “the Hungarian-American guardian of Israel’s interests in Congress.” As co-chairman of the Congressional Human Rights Caucus, Lantos knowingly deceived his co-chairman and the public about the identity of “Nayirah,” whose incubator atrocity story helped justify American intervention in the 1991 Gulf War. Lantos is said to have “shared a common drive for promoting democracy and human rights” with his close friend and fellow Hungarian Holocaust survivor George Soros.
