German politician brands also Palestinians 'victims of Holocaust http://www.irna.ir/ENNewsShow.aspx?NID=30458350&SRCH=1

A Munich-based politician of the radical leftist The Left pointed out Palestinians have also been also 'victims of the (Nazi-era) Holocaust.' .Speaking to Saturday's edition of the daily Der Tagesspiegel, Elfi Padovan labeled the Palestinian nation 'another suffering Holocaust victim.' Padovan who is also a participant in the upcoming freedom flotilla bound for Gaza, said she also felt a sense of responsibility for what happened to the Palestinian nation in the wake of the creation of Zionist state. She stressed the present right-wing Israeli government was actually heading away from a just peace in the Middle East.

Padovan termed the Gaza war 'a great shock' to all peace activists, including her. The German politician emphasized Gaza could 'not remain forever an open-air prison.'

She cited numerous UN resolutions which have outlawed blocking off an area where people actually live. 'It's a matter of justice and dignity to live under normal circumstances. The (Israeli) blockade is hurting the peace process a great deal,' Padovan said. She warned Israel's iron fist policy would only further lead the country towards the abyss. Germany's powerful Zionist lobby has targeted Padovan's party in recent weeks for its critical stance towards the Zionist regime, saying it was anti-Semitic.The Zionist lobby which has even deeply infiltrated The Left party, has used anti-Semitism accusations as a convenient instrument to stifle any kind of criticism of the illegal Jewish state.

  1. Elfi is a courageous person. One of the most courageous people that I have met. As a member of the Swiss Left (La Gauche/Die Alternative Linke/La Sinistra) Party, I am proud to have served alongside Elfi, and international peace activists like her, aboard the Stefano Chiarini in the Freedom Flotilla 2 (Stay Human) of 2011. We are pacifistic freedom fighters against all forms of human oppression and injustice.
