UN and Lebanese naval forces held joint maneuvers with live ammunication in Lebanese territorial waters on Saturday.The Lebanese navy and the naval troops of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) held joint drills which included seven vessels, the UNIFIL media office said in a statement.Major General Alberto Asarta, UNIFIL Commander, commended the "professionalism" shown by the Lebanese forces.The maneuvers are positive outcome of the "excellent relationships" between the Lebanese navy and the UNIFIL naval forces, which were established in 2006, he added.Asarta explained that the UNIFIL naval forces were deployed at the request of the Lebanese government to help the Lebanese navy prevent illegal entry of weapons into the country
