Venezuela now has the equipment and training to provide services for children who require heart surgery, Health Minister Eugenia Sader said.In an interview with Venezuelan TV, Sader said the procedures are guaranteed at the Gilberto Rodriguez Ochoa Latin American Children's Cardiology Hospital, considered a center of world reference.Sader also stressed the quality of the service as one of the distinctive features of the hospital, which is celebrating five years of work this week, with more than 5,500 operations provided to Venezuelan and foreign children.

Since the hospital's opening, its specialists have had the support of many cardiology centers around the world and the opportunity to share with professionals and researchers from Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Colombia and Spain. As part of the activities for its fifth anniversary, the hospital is hosting an International Congress on Congenital Cardiopathies, she said.
