Venezuela’s Chavez Advises Washington to Worry About Its Debt/Moral Crises Not Iran-Venezuela Ties http://hamsayeh.net/world/1004-venezuelas-chavez-advises-washington-to-worry-about-its-debtmoral-crises-not-iran-venezuela-ties.html

Venezuela’s popular President Hugo Chavez advised Washington policy makers to concentrate and worry over US national debt rather than being concerned about Iran-Venezuela ties, FNA reported on Sunday.Washington often goes out of its ways meddling in other countries affairs. ‘Go and worry about your own affairs, decadent empire,’ said the hugely popular President of Venezuela – Latin America’s energy powerhouse. He added the US should also worry about the dwindling moral issues within the North American country’s military forces.

Last week US Admiral Mike Mullen said in a speech that growing ties between Venezuela and Iran is a cause for concern for America and its allies. “I certainly share their concern in terms of Venezuela’s links to Iran, which have been there for a significant amount of time and are growing,” Mullen told the congress.‘They (U.S. officials) are not worried about their debt but are concerned about Iran-Venezuela ties, he said, adding, independent countries have the right to have relations with each other,’ Chavez noted.

Growing relation between two of the globe’s biggest energy hubs i.e. Iran and Venezuela has become a major strategic problem for Washington in recent years. Leading countries including Russia, Venezuela, China, Brazil, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey and others have been advising Washington to put its domestic finances in order soon. They anticipate that America and its allies would no longer possess the physical means to continue playing police in and around oil-rich regions, an essential ingredient for maintaining the status of US dollar as the main global reserve currency.
