Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani escaped an assassination attempt, media reports said on Monday. According to a report by Al Fajr newspaper, Sheikh Hamad has been attacked on his way to his Palace. The gunmen fired at Qatari Emir's motorcade, which crashed on the way to the Palace where a meeting between Qatari Emir and Russian envoy was to take place, the report added. The incident left the Qatari Emir injured, who was taken to hospital along with eight others who suffered minor injuries in the incident.
