The Israeli government has recently endorsed the building of a new Jewish suburb south of occupied Jerusalem that envisages the construction of 4000 housing units, Hebrew press reported on Monday.Yediot Ahronot said on its website on Monday that the construction and planning committee has endorsed the first stage, which includes the building of 2610 housing units, of the three-stage project.The report noted that the project would complete the isolation of the southern part of eastern Jerusalem from the West Bank.

Released captives to Gaza spent 2161 years in Israeli Jail http://www.qodsna.com/NewsContent-id_42279.aspx  Palestinian captives released to Gaza in the last swap spent 2161 years in prison, according to a report published on Monday.The report, prepared by Abdul Nasser Ferwaneh, a researcher specialized in prisoners’ affairs, said that 38 of the 133 prisoners released to Gaza in the swap between Zionist regime and Hamas on Tuesday, spent more than 20 consecutive years in Israeli prisons,while eight prisoners were incarcerated for over 25 years.Imprisoned Zionist trooper Gilad Shalit, who was released in exchange for 477 Palestinian prisoners with a promise to release 550 more in two months, spent only 1940 days in captivity, added Ferwaneh.
