Editors' Introductory Note: to students of "democracy promotion" and US-backed regime change, the recent appointment of Michael McFaul to the post of US Ambassador to Russia is worthy of attention, if for nothing else than because Michael McFaul is a notorious supporter of subversive foreign intervention and a scholar/expert of Western-backed color revolutions.
