Ahmadinejad: Iran-Venezuela links broad, various, strong http://www.irna.ir/ENNewsShow.aspx?NID=30757732&SRCH=1 President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that the links between the two nations of Iran and Venezuela were broad, numerous and very strong.Making the remark in the ceremony to sign documents on mutual cooperation, he also said that the two nations were in a single cultural and humanitarian frontline and sought justice, freedom, dignity, independence and progress for all nations. He reiterated that the two countries will resist against expansionist policies of the bullying powers and defend their rights. He stressed that both nations need to depend on their domestic potentials to achieve progress. The Iranian President reiterated that Tehran and Caracas are after gaining progress and prosperity for their nations while hegemonic powers are spreading lies saying Iran is after making atomic bombs. All world nations take these allegations as great jokes and only laugh at them, he added. Since the big powers were concerned over development and progress in independent countries, they wanted them to remain weak and incapable so that they could plunder their wealth, Ahmadinejad noted. He noted that Caracas has always adopted transparent stands against colonial powers which now introduce themselves as advocates of democracy and human rights. The Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, for his part, voiced his country’s firm solidarity with the Iranian nation and said Iran is at present the target of the US imperialism. He said the colonial powers accuse such countries as Iran of seeking and producing nuclear arms without introducing any documents to prove their claims but everyone knows that these allegations are false and big powers are trying to use the same method as they did in Iraq to achieve their objectives. The bullying powers make up lies in order to attack countries, Chavez emphasized. The Venezuelan president further regretted that even some Arab countries kneeled down before the Imperialism and killed their brotherly nations, noting that a similar situation happened in Latin America but now the Caribbean nations have been awakened and confront the enemy. Turning to situation in Syria, he said the sovereignty and independence of Damascus should be respected and no country has the right to attack any other country for any reason. He also said the imperialist media were waging a propaganda war against Venezuela saying it was doing atomic activities in the site of a bicycle manufacturing plant. It was a sheer lie and thus Caracas decided to call the productions as “atomic bicycles” for the fun of the West allegations. During the ceremony, a corn wheat factory which has been built by an Iranian company was inaugurated through live TV connections
