Saad Hariri ordered kidnapping of 13 Lebanese in Syria: Report  http://www.presstv.ir/detail/243372.html

Reports say the recent kidnapping of 13 Lebanese pilgrims in Syria has been carried out on the order of former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri.

The information came after one of the kidnappers, who was arrested near the Turkish border in Syria, made critical confessions about the incident.

Lebanese lawmaker Uqab Saqr had reportedly organized the abduction and finally paid a certain amount of money to the kidnapping group to transfer the pilgrims to Turkey.

The organizers of the abduction had also plotted to kill the arrested kidnapper to cover the truth behind the incident.

A group of Lebanese people was on its way back home from a pilgrimage in Iran when armed men intercepted their vehicle in the northern Syrian province of Aleppo on May 22. The women in the group were allowed to go free and they arrived in Lebanon on the next day.

On May 25, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati said all the 13 kidnapped Shia pilgrims were released after three days in captivity and that they were in good health.

The abductees were reportedly handed to Turkey following their release, but the Turkish Foreign Ministry said on May 27 that the Lebanese citizens have not entered Turkey so far.
