Press Freedom organisation Reporters Without Borders (RWB) has expressed concern over a threat by Iranian authorities to revoke accreditations for the Reuters staff in Iran after a bungled headline in a report on women's martial arts training.A jury in Tehran on Sunday reportedly found Reuters guilty of "anti-government propaganda" after an agency report cited a local programme to train women "Ninjas" as a sponsored operation to prepare thousands of Ninja females to be "assassins." Reuters quickly acknowledged the mistake it made in its news feature last March and ordered an internal enquiry.But RWB said Monday that the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in Iran has told Reuters that press cards for its entire staff would be revoked if the jury verdict is confirmed by a judge."By convicting Reuters, the Iranian authorities are targeting all foreign media, with the aim of getting them to censor themselves. It is an extension of the constant measures to gag the Iranian media," RWB said in a statement.
