Intelligence Forces Disband Terrorist Network in Southwestern Iran
Iranian intelligence forces arrested and disbanded a terrorist network affiliated to the alien intelligence services and defused their plot for damaging security in Iran's Southwestern province of Khuzestan.  "A number of terrorist elements affiliated with foreign intelligence agencies, who attempted to carry out bombing attacks in Khuzestan Province, have been identified and arrested over the past few days," the Intelligence Ministry said in a statement on Friday. It added that the terrorists intended to cause insecurity in the southwestern province by conducting bombing attacks in provincial energy networks. The ministry further stated that large amounts of explosives and military equipment, provided by one of the Persian Gulf littoral states, have also been seized from the detainees. Seven bombs and communication and telecommunication devices were also confiscated, the ministry said. The elements, backed by Western-Israeli intelligence agencies, were planning to carry out other acts of sabotage, the statement explained.
