Israel urges UNSC to disarm Hizballah
On December 20, 2012, Israeli envoy at the United Nations, Ron Prosor, sent a letter to the 15-nation UN Security Council (UNSC) to stop Lebanese Islamic Resistance Hizabllah from rearming itself to defend the country during next Israeli attack. He claimed Hizballah with tens of thousands of rockets capable of hitting Israel in retaliation, could pose an ”existential” threat to Israel. He asserted that Hizballah is rearming itself in violation of a UN arms embargo.“In flagrant breach of UNSC resolution 1701, Hizballah has built its arsenal to unprecedented levels, amassing 50,000 deadly missile in Lebanon – more missiles than many NATO members have in their possession. These missiles can reach all of Israel and beyond,” wrote Prosor.Ron Prosor also called upon the UNSC members to declare Hizballah a terrorist organization – ignoring the fact that Israel was established in 1948 as result of terrorism against the native Muslim and Palestinians by the European Jewish militant terrorist groups like Hagana, Irgun, Stern Gang and over dozen others. Read their history of terrorism, here.In July 2012, the European Union (EU) rejected Israel’s foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman’s demand to classify Hizballah ‘terrorist organization’.“There is no consensus or justification for putting Hezbollah on the list of terrorist organizations,” said Cypriot Foreign Minister Erato Kozakou-Marcoullis, whose country currently holds the rotating EU presidency.Currently, only three members (Israel, US and Canada) of the 193-nations United Nations have declared Hizbullah as “terrorist organization”. Hizballah is part of Lebanon’s Unity government with three ministers in 30-member cabinet of prime minister Najib Makati, a Sunni billionaire.Strangely, this whining is coming from a Zionist coward whose country has invaded and occupied part of Lebanon several times in the past. The Jewish army not only destroyed Lebanon’s infrastructures but left mines, rockets, cluster bombs, landmines and deadly booby-traps which have been killing children and civilians even to this day. In November 2006, the United Nations report had claimed Israelis mined South Lebanon with over 100,000 mines out of which 60,000 cluster bombs were cleared and destroyed by UN MACC teams. On November 17, an Israeli rocket fired in 2006 war, exploded in Tair Harfa town near Israel-Lebanon border. The area is patrolled by 12,000 United Nations (UNIFIL) troops and naval personnel since Israel’s defeat in 34-day war in 2006.No one expect Prosor to acknowledge that while he was whining about Hizballah “rearming”, Obama administration has announced to donate $647 million to cover Israeli loses during its 8-day war on Gaza Strip last month.
