A Syrian Liberal Army group situated along the western side of the Eastern Mountains in the outskirts of Ersal attempted Friday to kidnap two persons in the area of Ain Karkouz, 6 Km within the Lebanese territories, NNA correspondent in Baalbek reported.The kidnapping took place amidst intensive shooting from the Syrian side, which led to the injury of a third man by the name of Ibrahim Hikmat Ismail, who managed to flee in the direction of Lebanese territories. He reported the kidnapping of both his brother and brother-in-law, who were taken into Syrian territories, NNA correspondent added.

Lebanese Army units arrested Thursday afternoon three gunmen as they were infiltrating into Lebanese territories in the direction of Ersal region, an Army communiqué indicated. The three gunmen, two of whom are of Palestinian origin and the third of Syrian nationality, were found to be in possession of individual arms and explosives. The arrested were immediately handed-over to the concerned officials while investigations were initiated into the incident, the Army communiqué added.
