BRASIL EVENT "He who does not face imperialism as main enemy is out of our equation" http://www.albatv.org/Quien-no-encare-el-imperialismo.html
"Our main enemy is imperialism." This assertion has pervaded all the interventions of the Bureau's analysis of the situation of this second day of the national meeting of the movement of the Asissted by dams (MAB, Movimento dos Atingidos por Barragens), which brings together about two thousand five hundred people between 2 and 5 September in Cotia, São Paulo. The space of the Tuesday morning analyzed the correlation of forces in the current national and international scenario as well as the possibilities of resistance of the working class, social movements, and specifically the MAB.The Professor of the FEderal University of ABC, Igor Fuser, highlighted the strategic importance of natural resources and the mechanisms of imperialist appropriation. "The U.S. they try to control all natural real world throughout the war, firstly the oil, but also minerals, fertile land and water,"he said.800  North-American military bases around the world, the imminent war in Syria and the latest wars erupted in the Middle East and North Africa , according to Fuser, is this race for the appropriation of natural resources.
Meanwhile, this reality is also observed in other regions. [[[[[For the Director of the Fundación promoter of cooperatives (FUNPROCOOP) of El Salvador, Mauricio Venegas, this process also is observed in Latin America and Central. "Imperialism is annihilating peasant organizations which are resisting mega mining projects," he noted.]]]]]
For this reason, national co-ordinator of the Popular consultation, Ricardo Gebrim, reiterated the importance of defining the real enemy of the working class. "Never in history there was agreement between the interests of the people and imperialism. So, those who do not implicate imperialism as main enemy is out of our situation", he warned.Gebrim also pointed out that the historical time points the beginning of the rise of the mass struggle, evidenced in the protest against the increase in the rates of public transportation which affected large mobilizations throughout the country.
"We won't allow the Government to remove the body"
In the perspective of this context of intrnsificacion of the popular struggles, a member of the national coordination of MAB, Joceli Andrioli, reaffirmed the need for the fight against multinationals in power. "Here in Brazil there is a real assault on the nation's wealth by international capital. Hydroelectric dams, that is reflected in extraordinary profits and high prices on account of light thousands of affected without guaranteed rights", he said.
In relation to the Government, he commented on the importance of the position of the social movements. "In these 20 years of organization affected, we had achievements, but still we cannot guarantee our rights. It is shameful that there is a policy of rights of those affected in Brazil. We are not going to admit that the Government remove the body. We know the importance of progressive Governments in Latin America. But, as social movements, our role is to press them to ensure that they act more and more to the left,"said. The MAB claimed the adoption of PNAB - national policy of rights of the populations affected by dams (Barragens, in Portuguese), proposed creation of a legal framework that guarantees the rights of those affected, non-existent at present.Source in Portuguese: MAB (mabnacional.org.br)
