An Hour to Murder an Old Man Under the Sun
Extreme anger prevails among the Palestinian citizens of Nablus after elements of the Palestinian militarized police murdered a respected Palestinian elderly man, Mr. Sadi Al-Skhel from Nablus. The militarized police, which has taken the place of the israeli occupation soldiers when abducting, torturing and murdering Palestinians, continues its illegal assaults on the citizens by terrorizing, arresting, interrogating and imprisoning political activists or people deemed as such according to the demands of the israeli occupation.

Yesterday, Saturday June 15 2013, the militarized police perpetrated its latest crime, which led to the death of Palestinian citizen Al-Skhel in Nablus. The Palestinian police has imposed tight censorship over the Palestinian media in an attempt to conceal the crime that can be described as a crime against humanity according to international laws. This murder is also an embarrassment to the unit which perpetrated because they are among the units trained by the EUPOL COPPS, and they did only what they were trained to do. At about 11:30, Mr. Haitham Zahran, a Palestinian “Intelligence Police” officer, heading a group of “Intelligence Police”, all in civil clothes in the same way as the Israeli death squad “mistaaravim”, surrounded the supermarket of Mr. Al-Skhel on the road of the New Academy of Al- Najah University in Nablus. Mr. Zahran arrived at the supermarket of Al-Skhel driving his private car, the other elements were driving a black van belonging to the “Intelligence Police”. The owner of the Supermarket Mr. Sadi Al-Skhel and his two sons Musab and Mohammad were at the supermarket.Behaving like a gang of common criminals, Mr. Zahran and his goons proceeded to terrorize the owners of the supermarket and arrest son Musab in a violent and denigrating way. The PA thugs did not show either father or sons an order of arrest for Musab, what means that the arrest of Musab was illegal. Haitham Al-Skhel asked the thugs to produce an arrest warrant, and that was his deaths sentence. Zahran and his thugs, seeing themselves exposed as nothing but a bunch of blood-crazed mafia, beat the old man badly.

Colombia: ‘False Positive’ Killings Still Ongoing According To Report

          The Centre for Popular Research and Education (Cinep) in Bogotá has reported that during 2012 there were 11 separate cases of extrajudicial executions in Colombia, suggesting that executions known as ‘false positives’ are still ongoing. A further eight cases of arbitrary detention have also been reported, amassing a total of 52 victims.The false positives scandal refers to the Colombian military’s alleged sanctioned practice of killing civilians and then dressing them up in guerrilla fatigues in order to present them as combat kills. Reports show that the executions usually target famers, social activists, and political opponents.The scandal is part of continuous armed conflict between Colombia’s government and the FARC and ELN, both guerilla forces. In May last year the International Federation of Human Rights (FIDH) alleged that over 3,000 civilians had been killed between 2002 and 2008 as a result of the conflict.Cinep also claim that the general state of human rights in Colombia is poor with members of the paramilitary “the greatest violators” responsible for 565 cases, followed by the police with 268. Giraldo Serna, of Cinep, said, “Threats, tortures, disappearances, deaths, and social cleansing are still implemented in Colombia.”The government denied ‘false positives’ are still occurring but Cinep believes the problem is far greater than people think. “Those who justify the false positives don’t realise they are damaging the prestige of the police force,” said Cinep spokesman Alejandro Angulo.

U.S. Army’s Latest Plan to Battle Colombian Guerillas: A Radio Soap Opera

U.S. Army commanders have decided one way to defeat rebel forces in Colombia is to broadcast radio soap operas that explain how putting down their weapons will be a good thing for them.
To accomplish this task of mass media counterinsurgency, the Army sent out a request to contractors to come up with proposals for the radio program.Interested companies need to explain how they will produce 20 radio novela episodes in Spanish and a mix of regional dialects for use by the Army’s Military Information Support Operations (MISO) in Colombia. (MISO, which spent $54 million on its global activities in 2012, was formerly known as Psychological Operations.)Eight episodes must include “messages that promote demobilization”—in other words, give up.Another four episodes should promote “traditional family values, belief in the respectful treatment of women, democratic alternatives to violence that can furnish functioning state institutions, and emerging environmental concerns in support of U.S. and partner nation goals in Colombia, South America,” according to the Army.The episodes will each run 15 minutes and, like most American dramatic TV series, include a recap of the previous episodes and previews for the forthcoming installment.The announcement comes on the heels of a report by the Government Accountability Office that criticized the Department of Defense’s MISO programs, saying they lack end goals, may be ineffective and may not even target the correct foreign audiences. “MISO activities have the potential to undermine the credibility of the United States and threaten (Pentagon) and other agencies’ efforts to accomplish key foreign policy goals,” the report stated.

Corporate Europe Observatory and the Transnational Institute have teamed up to publish a joint report taking a closer look at how the inclusion of investor privileges in the agreement would grant exorbitant rights to corporations and threaten crucial public interest laws in both the U.S. and the EU.
The report outlines the lobbying efforts of corporations advocating for the inclusion of investor privileges in the agreement. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce said in a statement to USTR that the investment chapter of the U.S.–EU trade pact should serve as "the 'gold standard’ for other investment agreements.” Chevron has requested that TAFTA require governments to fulfill foreign investors' "expectations" and that such investor privileges cover “both existing and future investments." Chevron is intimately familiar with the investor-state system, having launched an investor-state case against Ecuador to avoid paying the $18 billion that Ecuadorian courts have ordered the company to hand over to clean up its mass-contamination of the Amazonian rainforest.

An Austrian military officer who worked within the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in the Israeli occupied Syrian Golan Highs revealed to the Palestinian newspaper Al-Manaar, that Israel is providing large-scale support for the armed terrorist groups in Syria. UNDOF Officer confirms Large-Scale Israeli Support and Direct Military Aggression against Syrian Sites. The Austrian military officer, who declines to reveal his name, but who is known to Al-Manaar, told Al-Manaar that the scale of Israel´s support to the armed terrorist groups, which is spread through villages in the Israeli occupied Syrian Golan is very large, and that the support includes all logistic, military and medical fields.The officer, belonging to the withdrawing Austrian UNDOF battalion made the statement while being in Palestine, waiting for further transport home to Austria. Why we are demonstrating:

1. While the White House orders the Pentagon to plan a no-fly zone over Syria and the U.S. has troops at the ready in Jordan, for the past two years the CIA has coordinated massive weapons shipments from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey with the aim of guaranteeing that a pro-U.S. regime comes to power, therefore negating the Syrian people’s right to self-determination.
2. Israel, with the backing of the Obama administration which represents U.S. Imperialism, has in recent days carried out major bombings of Syria. Israel receives $4 billion a year from the United States (the largest recipient of U.S. foreign aid) and acts as a proxy for and an extension of U.S. military power in the Middle East.
3. As with Iraq, where the U.S. war caused the death of 1.5 million people, the lives of Syrians, 80,000 of whom have died to date, are meaningless to the U.S. neocolonial superpower that is now threatening yet another brutal war and occupation in the Middle East.
4. As under Bush, the Obama policy is to carry out regime change in this oil-rich region to the advantage of U.S. corporate interests. The invasion of Iraq in 2003, the U.S.-backed Israeli war in Lebanon in 2006, the 2011 NATO bombing of Libya, the now-escalating war in Syria and the growing threats against Iran are part of a coordinated regional effort by the United States, Britain and France to completely dominate the resources and land of an area that was once considered a prime prize of Western colonial domination and plunder.
5. As with all wars of aggression, the imperialist powers have perfected a propaganda cover that ascribes lofty motives to their intervention in the Middle East — “eliminating weapons of mass destruction” or “protecting civilians” or “fighting the war on terror” or “fighting for democracy.”
6. The U.S. government cuts basic services and has eliminated hundreds of thousands of public sector workers’ jobs in the last three years because of “budget shortages,” but spends limitless funds in carrying out wars of aggression.

According to Israel’s Channel 2, the rebel fighter was suffering from a serious gunshot wound that could not be successfully treated in Syria. The letter, written by a Syrian doctor, explained the wound–a bullet had fractured the man’s ribs and caused damage to his diaphragm and liver—and that he was suffering from heavy internal bleeding. Furthermore the Syrian doctor explained that he was unable to sew and bandage vital areas and thanked the Israeli doctors for any help they could provide.
