Thus, on the basis of assembly of military intelligence and police, backed most of the time by the prosecutor, was built around a system of repressive justice side without jurisdiction or competence.

The prison policy in Colombia deliberately seeks the destruction, disruption and isolation of the social and political protest opposing the neoliberal and repressive government. Detention conditions in Colombian prisons are inhumane. Prisoners die of starvation or cold, depending on the region. Inmates sick or elderly die from lack of or inadequate care. Babies under 3 years are imprisoned with their mothers. These inhumane conditions and regular use of torture to induce farmers, indigenous students to accept unjustified accusations and judgments.
