Iranian researchers in collaboration with colleagues at University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) produced appropriate nano membranes to be used in membrane contactors and analyzed their application in gas separation processes.  "In our research, we studied the production of a suitable nano membrane to be used in membrane contactors, and analyzed its application in gas separation processes. Fortunately, the synthesized nano membranes had a better performance than the commercial ones," Dr Gholamreza Bakeri, one of the Iranian researchers, told INIC. Explaining about the achievements of this plan, he said, "Among the results of the plan, mention can be made of achieving the technology required for the production of hollow fibre nano membranes to be used in membrane contactors, designing the equipment required for the production of such nano membrane, and designing the devices for gas passing test and membrane contactor test."
