Zalmay Khalilzad, a one-time supporter of various neoconservative campaigns, served as U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan, Iraq, and the United Nations during the President George W. Bush presidency. He now serves as a counselor to the Center for Strategic and International Studies[1]; as president of Khalilzad Associates, an international consulting firm[2]; and as a board member of the National Endowment for Democracy.[3]
