Russia: US unilateral sanctions on Iran violate international law http://www.irna.ir/ENNewsShow.aspx?NID=30676438 Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashenkovich said on Tuesday that the US had taken extra-territorial measures by imposing further unilateral sanctions on Iran which violated international law.He said that Washington's unilateral sanctions hamper the nuclear talks with the Islamic Republic of Iran and at the same time runs counter to international law. 'Given the US administration's decision to tighten sanctions against Iran, which affects companies from third countries cooperating with Iran in the oil and oil-refining industry, and in the banking sector, we reiterate that Russia views such extra-territorial measures as unacceptable and against international law.' The practice of tightening sanctions has gone beyond the Non-Proliferation Treaty, the spokesman said quoted by IRNA reporter in Moscow
