US SETTING UP A BASE TO EXPORT DRUGS VIA HONDURAS UNDER GUISE OF FIGHTING IT AND  IN COLLUSION WITH ITS PUPPET GOV WICH HAS TIES TO NARCO TRAFFICKING...HONDURAS HAS NEW NAVAL BASE AGAINST DRUG TRAFFICKING http://www.namnewsnetwork.org/v2/read.php?id=177112   Honduras will have a new naval base to reinforce the struggle against drug trafficking and organised crime, a local website laprensa.hn reported. The military base, costing US$2 million and financed by the United States will be constructed in Guanaja, Bahia Islands, this month.The base's infrastructure includes new buildings and a high technology dock for "better control in the whole sector of the Honduran Atlantic coast". The Honduran Defense Ministry said that from this strategic location operated by Honduran and U.S soldiers, ships and planes could be intercepted, according to the website.
The Honduran Armed Forces consolidate the operational triangle in the Caribbean but still lack support for naval installations in the Pacific to supply the U.S fleet, the website said. A defence ministry source told the website that in April last year, Honduras established a naval base in Caratasca, equipped with the support of the United States, which allowed the interception of ships carrying drugs.

His "connection" is named as the Calí Cartel and his area of operations is named as Yoro. In the '80s, when the Calí Cartel was at its peak of power, Micheletti was a member of the local council in Yoro department, in the north of the country near the Caribbean coast. He would later sucessfully run for congress from Yoro.The same report quoted Andrés Pavón of the Honduran Committee for the Defense of Human Rights (CODEH), who accused Gen. Vázquez of working with narco-traffickers in league with corrupt elements of the DEA.
