Robert Spencer’s Co-religionist had Sex with Boys to Cure their Homosexuality, What if He was Muslim?’s-co-religionist-had-sex-with-boys-to-cure-their-homosexuality-what-if-he-was-muslim/

Most of us in America learned something about prejudice and stereotypes in school. We know it’s wrong to misrepresent whole groups of people by highlighting only the worst behavior amongst them. Anyone can easily “prove” their religion, ideology, or culture is the most supreme by cherry-picking the worst examples of their opponents and “comparing” it to their highest ideals. Stereotyping, quite frankly, is cheating in the discipline of comparative religion/ideology/culture. But for Robert Spencer, stereotyping isn’t a social evil to be resisted. It’s a career. Well, let’s turn the tables on him. A former youth pastor in Council Bluffs, Iowa, says he had sex with teenage boys because it was his pastoral duty “to help (the teen) with homosexual urges by praying while he had sexual contact with him.”Earlier this month, Brent Girouex, 31, was arrested on 60 counts of suspicion of sexual exploitation by a counselor or therapist, reported The Daily Nonpareil…

Court documents indicated Girouex told investigators the most sexual contact he had was with one teen over a four-year period, starting when the boy was 14 years old. Calling the contact “mutual,” he said it had occurred between “25 and 50 times” during that period…“When they would ejaculate, they would be getting rid of the evil thoughts in their mind,” Girouex allegedly told detectives. Truly a bizarre, counter-intuitive, and horribly disturbing account of a Christian leader exploiting his position of authority and trust to sexually gratify himself at the expense of innocent minors. This is certainly not the first time a priest or minister has abused children. If we were running an anti-Christian hate site (similar to Spencer’s anti-Muslim hate site), this incident would make a fine addition to our police blotter propaganda.

We could make a strong case for the weak-minded that Christianity is a sex-with-boys religion. After all, Mr. Girouex appealed to Christian theology and scriptures to justify his misdeeds. This sort of thing happens all the time! What more evidence do you need? Case closed.Or is it? We’re not running an anti-Christian hate site. We know the vast majority of Christians reject this kind of behavior. Neither does Mr. Girouex’s action agree with the spirit of Christianity. It’s common sense. Rather, we promote the American values of tolerance and pluralism. We have stated this repeatedly. Yet, if you’re Robert Spencer, whatever a Muslim does wrong, no matter how aberrant or outside the mainstream, it must have happened because of Islam and no other reason, even if the perpetrator is mentally ill.

So here’s my question, Mr. Spencer. Is it fair to label Christianity a religion of sexual perversion? Is it fair to blame Christian theology and texts for these crimes? Should we hold senate hearings to protect little boys from their Churches? Shouldn’t we stop being “politically correct”? Aren’t all Christians collectively guilty for not speaking out enough? Aren’t we justified if we gather together to shout obscenities outside the local church of the raping-boys religion?Of course, Spencer won’t accept that any of these suggestions are fair, but when it comes to Islam there is a different standard. And this, as we learned in grade school, is the essence of stereotyping. Not only does Spencer consistently violate the Golden Rule (“do unto others what you would have done unto yourself”), in which he claims to believe, but also, as Senator Durbin recently said, his hateful rhetoric violates “the spirit of our Bill of Rights.”

US lawmakers urge support for Syrian opposition

US President Barack Obama should abandon his policy of engaging Syria and stand foursquare behind opposition to the government of President Bashar al-Assad, lawmakers urged Wednesday.Republican Senator John McCain and Independent Senator Joe Lieberman said Obama's effort to engage rather than shun Damascus had "little to show for it" and declared it was time to back protesters against Assad's rule."A new Syria strategy is now needed -- one that aligns the United States with the legitimate demands and aspirations of the Syrian people for their future," said the senators...

Pro-Israel ‘Panty Protest’ Backfires in NY

Ex-FBI agent says he 'kidnapped,' deported Bahamian fugitives

In secretly recorded conversations, a former FBI agent said he routinely arrested Bahamian criminal defendants in South Florida and unlawfully sent them back to their homeland on commercial airline flights without any formal review of their cases in U.S. courts. The shocking admissions by retired FBI Agent Gerard “Jerry” Forrester, the FBI’s Miami liaison officer in the Caribbean in the 1990s, surfaced this week as part of an unrelated civil court battle in the Bahamas between New York hedge fund billionaire, Louis Bacon, and Canadian fashion mogul, Peter Nygard, who own estates in exclusive Lyford Cay.

According to an affidavit of the audio recordings, Forrester said a Bahamian murder suspect was arrested in Miami, held briefly in jail, placed on a plane and later killed in police custody in The Bahamas. He said the defendant’s death was brought to the attention of then-U.S. Attorney Janet Reno.

“I kidnapped him back to Nassau,” Forrester said while being recorded last year by former Scotland Yard detective Alick Morrison, who was working as a private investigator for Nygard. “They had him for about 10 hours and the guy wound up dead.”Forrester, a private investigator now working with a former Bahamian cop who was cleared in the 1998 killing of the defendant in police custody, downplayed his statements on the tapes: “Yes, I did say it. Was it true? No. Why did I embellish? Because I brag,” he said with a chuckle.

Security guard 'found with Semtex' at Olympic Stadium

A female security guard has been arrested near London's Olympic Stadium site on suspicion of possessing explosives and drugs.''The Counter Terrorism Command is aware but the incident is not being treated as terrorism related. 'This incident did not represent a threat to the safety and security of the site.''A spokesman for security firm G4S, which earlier this month signed a deal to be the official security firm for the Games, said: ''Our canine services team is licensed to hold small samples of explosives for training purposes and are required to undertake rigorous training and follow strict operational processes. ''Our ODA canine services teams are highly effective because the dogs are able to regularly train using 'live' training aids. All dog handlers are fully vetted and operate to the highest industry standards.'' ''G4S take breach of operational processes very seriously and are assisting the police with their inquiries in relation to this incident.''

America`s enduring craze for destruction

CIA has always aspired for safe and secure playing fields wherefrom it could conduct its covert operations against target countries. Tehran, Lebanon, Hanoi, Cairo have remained its major bases. Each base got disrupted due to indigenous upheaval because of which it had to depart hastily and shift elsewhere. At present, Kabul has been turned into the major base of CIA where five other intelligence agencies are its partners. Of late, this base too has become vulnerable and even Kabul is getting encircled and with each passing day liberty of action is getting restricted.

NYCrimes says plutonium is safe

“I think there is a role for safe nuclear power,” says Dr. David J. Brenner directs the Center for Radiological Research. He is the expert brought out by the New York Times to confuse everyone. Is there really such a thing as safe nuclear power? How anyone can say that after this latest nuclear accident is beyond comprehension.Brenner knows that radiation kills people and has even calculated how many people a year the United States Government is killing with their airport radiation scanners. He calculates 100 people die and has testified before Congress about this danger and harm. The Times tells us that he has published research showing that CT scans increase the cancer risk in children. Dr. Brenner believes, as all true blue scientists do, that even low doses increase the risk of cancer, and that there is no “safe” level or threshold below which the risk does not rise. “But for all his concern about potential harm from radiation, he does not foresee a public health disaster resulting from the crisis at Fukushima Daiich,” the Times had the audacity to print.

Peace loving Americans are few and far between. The vast majority of our citizens see nothing wrong with their government killing masses of people as long as the rationale sounds high minded and noble. The love of bloodshed is generally connected with the right wing in this country, but nothing could be further from the truth. The desire for America to dominate the rest of the world is prevalent among most of its citizens, regardless of party affiliation. Those citizens differ only on who they want to see doing the dominating. Republicans are ecstatic when a Republican president drops bombs, sends drones on killing missions or occupies other nations. Democrats are equally enthusiastic when one of their own does the same.

U.S.-Panama FTA Would Allow Offshore Companies to Attack U.S. Anti-Tax Haven Regulations;Meanwhile Panama Has Not Eliminated Financial Secrecy, Tax Haven Problems

Before voting on any FTA, those in the U.S. Congress who have long raised concerns about Panama’s financial secrecy will want to be able to verify that newly announced changes in the country’s policy are resulting in real changes in practice. This would include seeing a sustained record of prompt compliance with U.S. government requests for tax information exchange under the non-automatic TIEA. Financial secrecy legislation has to be comprehensive, and bearer shares must be fully eliminated and immobilized.Verifying that Panama is actually making these changes will take some time. Usefully, this gives the Obama administration the space to modify the actual terms of the FTA negotiated by the Bush administration that would make fighting tax haven abuses difficult.

For instance, the current FTA constrains one of the most important tools policymakers have in fighting financial crimes and wrongdoing – restrictions on transfers to and from the countries that provide financial secrecy like Panama. Moreover, the FTA gives the tax haven government of Panama and the 400,000 corporations registered there new rights to challenge U.S. anti-tax haven policies for cash compensation outside of the U.S. judicial system. Read Public Citizen’s report about how the Panama FTA’s current text would make fighting tax havens difficult.

Which country's scientific output rose 18-fold between 1996 and 2008, from 736 published papers to 13,238? The answer – Iran – might surprise many people, especially in the western nations used to leading science. Iran has the fastest rate of increase in scientific publication in the world. And if political relations between Iran and the US are strained, it seems that the two countries' scientists are getting on fine: the number of collaborative papers between them rose almost fivefold from 388 to 1831 over the same period.

Why do the Zionist owned governments want to attack Iran? The reasons are many, but the main reason is,to stop it from developing a system that will expose theirs as bankrupt, corrupt and geared towards the enslavement of humanity,as opposed to using it for peaceful purposes

Millions of Syrians rallied all over Syria, pledging loyalty to the country, in support of Bashar al-Assad, on 29 March 2011. The dialectic of the regime and the opposition in Syria, it is safe to say, is neither like Tunisia and Egypt, nor like Iraq and Libya. Instead, it is more like what happened in the Islamic Republic of Iran, 2009-2010. There are many differences between Syria and Iran, however: E.g., in Syria, the opposition so far is the strongest in Dera'a, a small southwestern city near the border with Jordan, whereas the opposition in Iran was clearly the strongest in northern Tehran.

While most Iranian secularists (except a few Marxists) put their faith in the opposition in Iran, most Syrian secularists, as well as religious minorities such as Christians, appear to fear the opposition -- especially the suspected influence, and potential rise, of the Muslim Brotherhood -- in Syria. And then there is a gender factor.

Alone among the Arab regimes that have faced protests since last December, the Syrian Ba'ath regime has put forward women -- presidential advisor Bouthaina Shaaban and Information Ministry spokeswoman Reem Haddad -- as its faces and voices on the Arab and international media. Moreover, the president of Syria has a weapon in the obligatory media war accompanying any protest in a geopolitical hotspot these days, which neither any other Arab regime nor the Islamic Republic of Iran can claim: his undeniably charming wife Asma. Perhaps not altogether inconsequential in the age of celebrities. -- Ed.

Firsthand look at FTA’s

A group of farmers and ranchers from the nation’s largest farm organization will be heading to South and Central America. Their primary goal, to build relationships and show support for pending free trade agreements with Colombia and Panama. American Farm Bureau Trade Specialist Chris Garza.GARZA: These agreements are important to U.S. agriculture. We are currently losing market share in Colombia and could potentially start to lose market share in Panama as well. Passage of these trade agreements will prevent that and hopefully reverse what we have already lost. In terms of gains for U.S. agriculture, these two agreements represent almost a billion dollars worth of additional agricultural exports. That is in addition to what we already export into these markets.

The Road to Hell is paved with 'humanitarian interventions' Western Violence, the Hippocratic Oath, & the Second Arab Revolt

“Fascist writers… had a eugenicist vision of expanding the Italian population through colonies. Since settling large numbers of Italians in Africa required clearing the land of natives, Mussolini’s Libyan and Ethiopian adventures led to mass killings. During the 1928-32 the pacification of Libya killed almost a quarter of the 225,000 people of Cyrenica.” Thus did one of the most destructive world wars in human history begin. No surprise then, that the great powers of today, carry out their programs of bombardment from the air based on supposedly humanitarian ideals, with the assault against Libya ironically right around the time of the anniversary of the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003. Naples, Italy is at the moment the coordinating place for the attack, bringing up uncomfortable reminisces of Italy’s invasion and conquest of Libya starting in 1911, where Italian troops landed in various Libyan cities, including Tripoli and Benghazi, and occupied that country for three decades thereafter.

Inter-American Development Bank Annual Meeting Marked by Lack of Progress in a Sustainable Development Agenda in Latin America

Civil society representatives from Latin America recently attended the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Annual Meeting along with Amazon Watch to monitor progress of a new reform agenda adopted by the Bank last year and on which the Bank's recapitalization is conditioned. The groups expressed concern that, although the Bank has moved forward on some commitments from the Cancun Declaration, much uncertainty remains in their implementation. "We came to Canada to follow up on the Bank's commitment to make internal reforms that would position it as a Bank of knowledge and a leader in critical challenges in the region like sustainability, inequity and a greater focus on climatic change," said Manolo Moral of ECOLEX in Ecuador. "Unfortunately we still don't see much improvement in the capacity of the Bank to internally coordinate a sustainable development platform in Latin America."

Guatemala: Six Months to Examine the Past and Define the Future

As Guatemalan political parties gear up for the 2011 presidential elections in September, human rights organizations are preparing for some of the most important war crimes trials in the country’s history. With a leading presidential candidate linked to one of the nation’s most high-profile and controversial human rights cases, the way events play out in the next six months will be indicative of Guatemala’s ability to confront the entrenched impunity from the internal conflict.

The case of Everardo Bámaca (born Efrain Bámaca Velazquez) has become an emblematic example of the ties between perpetrators of past violence and the current political and economic elite. Everardo, an indigenous guerilla leader from San Marcos, was captured on March 12, 1992. He was held and tortured for over a year by the Guatemalan military before being killed. His wife, American lawyer Jennifer Harbury, worked for two decades to piece together the complex series of events that occurred while Everardo was in captivity. She amassed a large body of evidence that implicates a CIA asset and many high-ranking members of the Guatemalan military.

The former U.S. President Jimmy Carter came to Cuba with a three-day private visit. What role is this man, Fardi Ghadry, ready to play in Syria??

As you will read, he is expecting some form of leadership, no doubt including a big pay off..First a bit of background-I have been covering the Syrian uprising for a bit now.The sudden appearance of the of a social media revolution. The fact that much of the narrative of the uprisings has been untrue. Then the curious arrests of two Americans, who in a suspiciously timely manner made there way from Egypt to Syria. If you have been following along, you will see the natural progression in this gem of a find.I am going to highlight the curiosities in this bit of news.Ask yourself, is this man the western puppeted replacement for Syria.?? Notice he is making his debut in typical American political fashion? He is groveling to Israel.

How long has this dissident been ensconced in Washington? The Syrian exile estimates that the next phase will be a military coup, should the army feel that Assad's position is shaky. The "next phase" will be a military coup? "We expect the army...."Does this read to you as if there is a plan in place? Who is we?Then he says this-"I'm a Sunni Muslim from the city of Aleppo," he said. "An 82-year-old mother is waiting for me there, as well as a young public whom I have much to offer to on the economic front, and not on the war front."He is in touch with the Muslim Brotherhood? Our Billion Dollar Turd Sandwich

Congress isn’t even needed for funding. The Pentagon has paused in its eternal screeching lamentations of poverty and near financial collapse to launch a billion dollar turd sandwich with its pocket change, in the same moment when the GAO spots another $70 billion the military has flushed away. And Obama has secretly directed the CIA to feel free to secretly arm the Contras — I mean the Rebels. Times might be tough, but an “intelligence” operation has enough spare cash lying around to arm an army sufficient to take out another army that we helped arm in the past (the past being a couple of months ago).

SHOCKING Photos: Bahraini Forces Brutally Beating Citizens

Bahrain is expanding the crackdown on the opposition as security forces open fire on anti-government protesters in the capital Manama and several other towns nearby. On Wednesday, Bahraini troops, backed by Saudi forces, attacked protesters in Diraz, Sanabis, Nuwaidrat and Belad al-Qadeem, UPI quoted witnesses as saying. Security forces have also managed to disperse the protesters in Manama. Witnesses say a 15-year-old boy was martyred in the village of Saar.  Bahrain's main opposition bloc, the Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, said on Tuesday that 250 people have been detained and 44 others gone missing since martial-type laws were introduced two weeks ago to contain the anti-government protests in the Persian Gulf state.

Meanwhile, the Human Rights Watch (HRW) said that government forces are targeting patients shot with rubber bullets, tear gas and live ammunition during anti-government protests and are denying them crucial medical care. “There is absolutely no justification for arresting someone solely because the person might have been wounded in a protest-related incident,” said Joe Stork, Middle East deputy director at HRW, in a statement. “It is against every tenet of humanity to deprive patients of critical and sometimes life-saving medical treatment, causing them grave suffering and perhaps irreparable harm,” he said.

Corporations bleed oil rich nations dry'

Corporations seek to keep their tentacles sunk in the petro-industry businesses; hence, the post-petro era has been intentionally retarded from evolving for the benefit of financial institutes. Press TV has interviewed writer and co-founder of the Crescent and Cross Solidarity Movement, Mark Glenn, who has also authored "No Beauty in the Beast: Israel without Her Massacre." Cheney, Our Globally-Immortal War Criminal

Dick Cheney has expanded his global reputation as a killer of the planet, as well as a war-criminal extrodinare. His first act as Vice-President under Bush the Dictator was to forcefully take complete control over US Energy policy. This criminally SECRET action paved the way for everything to do with "energy" in this country, and now as it turns out, he has been able to add the global nuclear meltdown that can now be traced back to his iron-fisted control over filthy-coal and the completely unstable reliance upon nuclear energy over any and all other forms of energy. This situation has resulted in a nearly total lack of investment in any alternative forms of energy that could have given the world other choices. But with his own vested interests on the line; Cheney, above all others is responsible for the present situation; a predicament that has arisen because there are currently so few alternatives to either nuclear or dirty-coal by design.

While Nuclear Waste Piles up in U.S., Billions in Fund to Handle It Sit Unused

While the nuclear crisis in Japan has focused attention on the risks of spent fuel piling up at the U.S.'s reactors, one curious fact has gone largely unnoted: There is $24 billion sitting in a "nuclear waste fund" that can't actually be used to pay for a safer way to store the waste at reactors. In 1982, Congress passed the Nuclear Waste Policy Act, and the federal government effectively struck a deal with the nuclear industry: Reactor operators and their customers would pay a tax on the waste they produced, and the government would use the money to create a safe place to store it for generations.

[come on ,anyone believe that those funds havent been looted already without anyone looking?

NATO's Lisbon summit declaration of last November highlighted an expanding role for the bloc in Africa, including supporting the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), for which it has airlifted thousands of Ugandan troops for combat in the nation's capital, the Operation Ocean Shield naval operation off the Horn of Africa and the operationalization of the African Standby Force, modeled after the NATO Response Force. In twelve years the U.S. has used NATO for the war against Yugoslavia - the first unprovoked attack against a sovereign European nation since World War Two - a nearly decade-long air and ground war in Asia, and now the opening stages of a war in Africa.

None of those wars were launched either to defend a member of NATO or in the so-called Euro-Atlantic area the military bloc arrogates to itself the right to protect.21st century NATO is a global military strike force to be employed wherever its leading member states, the U.S. in the first case, choose to use it. Other nations in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the Caucasus and even what is left of unsubjugated Europe had best take note of the fact.

Letters Claim Al-CIAda Have Nuclear Bombs Hidden Across United States, Al Qaeda 100% Pentagon Run

25 letters that claim nuclear bombs are hidden throughout the United States have been sent to multiple investigators and citizens in the Chicago area. The letter inside said, “The Al-Qaeda organization has planted 160 nuclear bombs throughout the U.S. in schools, stadiums, churches, stores, financial institutions and government buildings.” It also said, “This is a suicide mission for us,” reported CBS Chicago. While this news may be startling to many, it is no surprise to those in the alternative media. The idea of nukes in the United States has run rampant for years, with many believing rogue elements of our government will actually use these nukes within the United States to create enough chaos to initiate a world government.

Ahmadinejad: West trying to save Israel

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the final objective of hegemonic powers is to save Israel and suppress the countries opposed to the West.

America's Planned Nuclear Attack on Libya

A war on Libya has been on the drawing board of the Pentagon for more than 20 years. On April 14th 1986, Ronald Reagan ordered a series of bombings directed against Libya under "Operation El Dorado Canyon", in reprisal for an alleged Libya sponsored terrorist bombing of a Berlin discotheque. The pretext was fabricated." "Barely acknowledged by the Western media, a planned attack on Libya using nuclear weapons, had been contemplated by the Clinton Administration in 1997, at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal."

The BioPirates of Science: Genetic Engineering – Science or Hoax?

Only in America can a beleaguered company with a checker past such as Monsanto’s, which includes a nasty little habit of poisoning entire towns with toxic waste, battle it’s way to the top of the dung heap to deliver a fatal blow to the people and planet with a deadly and insidious type of chemical and biological warfare via the genetic modification and patenting of transgenic seeds, as well as the coating of our farmland with toxic chemicals.

And to top it all off, the U.S. government, which is supposed to be financed by we the people, is actively promoting this biological warfare by stealthily allowing the rampant infection of approximately 85% of our processed food with unregulated transgenes that Monsanto executives admit will have unknown effects on the environment and life.Did I mention that these transgenes also include a virus that is 70-90% identical to the HIV and Hep B viruses?

Britain Praises Ties With the Bahraini Despot

'Despite the Bahraini regime's violent suppression of pro-democracy protestors, the British ambassador to the Persian Gulf kingdom is calling for even closer ties with the regime. The ambassador, Jamie Brown, introduces visitors of the website of the British embassy in Bahrain to the “long history of… friendship” between London and Manama regardless of the ongoing bloody crackdown on Bahraini demonstrators. The Human Rights Watch in its latest report into the crisis in the Persian Gulf state confirmed that Bahraini regime loyalists have killed at least 11 people injuring more than 1,000 since the crackdown began.'

Facebook Shuts Pro-Palestinian Page

'US-based social networking website Facebook has obliterated a page that advocated a 'third Intifada (uprising)' in reaction to Israel's persisting measures to trample on the rights of the Palestinian people. The Tuesday move came after 350,000 people endorsed the campaign by 'liking' the page and many of its entries received thousands of comments, reported Ynetnews, the website for the Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth. The move came after Israel's Minister of Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs Yuli Edelstein addressed Facebook's creator Mark Zuckerberg in a letter, pleading with him to remove the page.'

'Israel, Set the Criteria for US Interventions'

'Israeli advocates in the US dictate to the American government which freedom movements in the world to support and which ones to ignore, says a political analyst“Israeli lobby in America is definitely talking to Washington and helping the decisions about which populations are worth of the international intervention and which ones are not and which ones they are going to ignore,” Sarah Marusek made the comments in an interview with Press TV on Tuesday. She reiterated that double standards can clearly be seen if one looks at the US position on Libya and compares it with what is going on in Bahrain and Yemen.'

The war against Libya in historical perspective From the Berlin Conference of 1884 to the London Conference of 2011

The leaders of 14 capitalist powers in Europe plus the United States met for a conference in Berlin 126 years ago to decide how all of Africa’s land and vast resources would be divided as colonies and zones of control among themselves. No Africans were invited to the conference. The 1884 Conference of Berlin, more than any other single event, became emblematic of the dynamic transformation of capitalism into a system of global imperialism. By 1902, 90 percent of Africa’s territory was under European control. African self-governance was wiped off the map in most of the continent. Only Ethiopia remained an independent state. Liberia was technically independent too, but it was in fact under the control of the United States...

Colonialism Is Alive and Well

'Today’s international conference in London "on the future of Libya" has an unmistakeable colonial ring about it. Put plainly, Britain, France and America are openly plotting the destiny of someone else’s country, which is in the midst of a civil war.Two things: nothing gives them the right to do this and, as per usual, the objectives are shrouded in a tissue of downright lies from Cameron, Obama and other Western leaders. While the stated aim is not regime change in Libya, in practice that is what is occurring before our very eyes.'

Obama Used Bill Clinton to Orchestrate Sestak Bribery Scheme

'Surprise, surprise the White House has completed a thorough investigation into the Joe Sestak bribery scandal and determined that no one in the Obama Administration committed any crimes because Bill Clinton actually carried out the shady scheme to eliminate the Pennsylvania congressman from the U.S. Senate race.A few months ago Sestak, a two-term congressman from Philadelphia, revealed on national television that the White House tried bribing him to drop out of this year’s U.S. Senate race. The popular Democratic lawmaker said he was offered a top federal job to keep him from challenging Senator Arlen Specter in this month’s primaries. After nearly three decades as a Republican, Specter became a Democrat last spring after giving Obama the critical vote for his disastrous $787 billion stimulus and the president vowed to help him get reelected.'

Little Barry(OBAMA) and the Big Game

'While it looks like they're trying to position Obama as some sort of mythical world leader, I can't see him taking this very far. He's just way too lightweight. It's surreal the way they're managing this puppet mouthpiece. It's as if they want Obama to appear so aloof and disjointed that the hoodwinked world is forced to think he really must be something special.I mean, c'mon.Going to Brazil during the Japan disaster and Libya invasion? Again announcing his sweet 16 picks during international emergencies?Remember, it's always deliberate and well thought out'

European Parliament Issues Warnings on HAARP

'A European Parliament document may provide a few answers for the inquiring mind. This parliamentary document is not some conspiratorial rant but an official governmental perspective describing authentic concern that a terribly grave technology, which the document calls a weapon, has been unleashed over many years without any public knowledge. The technology is called HAARP and the European Parliament has put NATO, the US Air Force and Navy on notice, demanding an explanation about their involvement.'

Protest against Israeli president's visit to London

Peace campaigners and Palestinian supporters held a protest in central London Wednesday to denounce Israeli President Shimon Peres as a war criminal and to demand his prosecution for human rights violations in Palestine. The demonstration was held outside the Royal Institution of Foreign Affairs at Chatham House, where Peres was speaking at a one-day conference on Sixty Years of British-Israeli Diplomatic Relations, which Foreign Secretary William Hague was also attending. It was supported by Friends of al-Aqsa and the Palestine Solidarity Campaign as well as other peace organisation.

Peres is the ninth Israeli president and has also served twice as prime minister and been a member of 12 cabinets in a political career spanning over 66 years. Others speaking at the conference include chair of Israel's National Security Council, Uri Arad who has previously been banned from entering the US and is expected to become Israel's next ambassador to London. This week, British MPs are expected to vote in favour of a controversial amendment to universal jurisdiction to make it more difficult for Israeli leaders to be arrested for war crimes when visiting the UK.

Nato 'overkill' in Libya will backfire, says Christian peace activist

The American-led military intervention in Libya will backfire and end in divisions and recriminations, according to the director of Christians against Nato aggression (CANAUK) William Spring. The problems for the coalition attacks, launched by the US, UK and France, is a Ware without end”, it is what is called “overkill”, the veteran peace campaigner said. “They haven’t learned anything and will end up in recriminations. As soon as things start to go wrong Nato will be out of it and they will all be blaming each other,” he said. In an interview with IRNA, Spring said that his experience goes back to the Suez crisis in 1956 when there was a similar conference in London to the one held this week on Libya to discuss Egypt and dividing the Middle East.

“The Americans don't liberate Muslims; they don't liberate Christians, they are only after their own strategic interests,” he said, recalling their involvement in the break up of Yugoslavia, posing as liberators of Muslims when CANAUK was set up. “Why are they in Libya, when they not bothering with Ivory Coast, or with Zimbabwe where I lived for many years in central London. It was only because of oil.” “Bahrain is another case in point. The invasion was not really a Saudi invasion, it was an American invasion using the Saudis as surrogates. (US Defence Secretary) Robert Gates went there only two days before,” Spring said.

“The fact that Bahrain should suddenly come under the control of Saudi Arabia, who have effectively annexed the territory is disgraceful. There have been consistent wars from the EU, from Nato,” he told IRNA.With regard to the situation in Libya, the veteran peace activist believed that the people will coalesce when they “see this consistent imperialist, Western aggression.” “They will turn to support not (Muammar) Gaddafi but Libya. They will support their country which is under attack by the West,” he said, expressing regret that the rebels in Benghazi have “shot themselves in the foot by taking American support in this way and British support.”

Iranian Students Protest at Massacre of People by US-Backed Allies

Large numbers of Iranian students staged a rally in front of the UN office in Tehran to protest at the massacre of peaceful protestors in Bahrain and other Islamic countries in the region. Protestors voiced their support for Muslims in Bahrain and other Islamic countries and underlined that they will continue their support for the oppressed people in those states. The students chanted various slogans such as 'Allaho Akbar', 'Down with the USA', 'Down with the Zionist regime', 'Down with Zionist Saudis', 'Down with American-style Islam' and 'Saudi commits crimes and the UN backs it' to voice their support for people in Bahrain and other Islamic countries. The students urged the Iranian government to dispatch voluntary forces to Bahrain and in other Islamic states. They also called for formation of a fact-finding committee to pursue recent events in those countries.

‘Setting the Right Priorities: Protecting the Children" ... From the UN, who invaded Afghanistan, kills and maims countless families (UN Centre)

A representative from the UN led war of murder and mayhem, suddenly loves Afghan children. She said that in 2009 Afghanistan had hit the world record for the most “attacks on education” by armed groupsQUESTION: Does she mean the armed groups with missles, attack helicopters, fighter jets, etc., etc., or the ones with old rifles and not enough to eat?The attacks had destroyed school buildings and directly harmed pupils, teachers and other staff, she said, adding that other violations of children’s rights included their recruitment into armed conflict, sexual violence, and denial of humanitarian access and health services. Same QUESTION: Attacks by who?

[also read>Letter to the UN asking for investigative reports on UN rape  Today, the UN said that dozens of UN peacekeepers were punished for sexual abuses. (UN peacekeepers involved in abuse are being punished, world body says, UN News Center, November 5, 2009, and Dozens of UN peace keepers punished for abuses, CBC News, November 5, 2009.)

Indeed, what this UN statement reveals to Ezili's HLLN is that if only a dozen UN peacekeepers were punished for sexual abuse and rape, than that means, for instance, most of the 114 Sri Lankan soldiers deported back to Sri Lanka from Haiti in 2007 for sexual abuse and rape in Haiti did not get punished. The Jordanian and other perpetrators we are aware of through Haitian complaints also have not been redressed or punished. The more important revelation is the UN's continued secrecy on this matter as “no data on the nationalities or identities of the peacekeepers were revealed.”

U.S. Says Libyan Rebels May Sell Oil

The United States on Monday gave a green light to sales of Libyan crude oil from rebel-held territory, giving a potential boost to forces battling Muammar Gaddafi. A U.S. Treasury Department official said Libyan rebels would not be subject to U.S. sanctions if they avoid entities linked to Gaddafi’s regime, which would allow them to sell oil under their control.“The rebels are not part of the government of Libya. They are not subject to the sanctions,” the official said.

Notes And Samples Of US - Libyan History During The Cold War Colledted From The Foreign Relations Of The United States

Introduction: The Foreign Relations of the United States series presents the official documentary historical record of major U.S. foreign policy decisions and significant diplomatic activity. The series, which is produced by the State Department's Office of the Historian, began in 1861 and now comprises more than 350 individual volumes. The volumes published over the last two decades increasingly contain declassified records from all the foreign affairs agencies.3. U.S. Policy Toward Libya (NSC 5716/1; OCB Special Report on “Implications of Petroleum Developments on U.S. Operations in Libya”, dated September 23, 1959; NSC Action No. 2139; NSC 5911/1; NIE 36.5–60; NSC 6004; Memo for NSC from Executive Secretary, same subject, dated March 7, 1960) Foreign Relations of the United States, 1958–1960 Volume XIII, Arab-Israeli dispute; United Arab Republic; North Africa,

Document 338 Secretary Anderson said this proposal was part of a fundamental issue. We  had always tried to maintain bases in foreign countries by producing in the country where the base was located a favorable climate of opinion, which was established largely by our aid programs. We were increasingly coming to realize that [4½ lines of source text not declassified]. $100 million was to be spent in Libya in the next year in connection with the development of the oil resources. These expenditures plus military expenditures would have a great inflationary effect in Libya. We had announced that we had a balance-of-payments problem. We should ask other countries to help us in that problem; and Britain was in a good position to do so with respect to Libya....

London Conference Plots Imperialist Carve-Up Of Libya By Barry Grey

The conference on Libya held Tuesday at London's Lancaster House was a repulsive exercise in hypocrisy and cynicism. In the name of liberating the Libyan people, the United States and Britain brought together foreign ministers from 40 countries and dignitaries from international organizations such as the United Nations, NATO and the Arab League to sanction an escalation of the air war against the former colony and set the stage for the installation of a stooge regime

Mentoring Michelle Obama

First Lady Michelle Obama has selected women mentors for young girls in celebration of Women's History Month. While Native American novelist Louise Erdrich is on the list, the group is still top heavy with actresses and entertainers -- which makes its own statement about US women and their heroes. There are also some troubling mentors selected by the First Lady, like Ambassador Nancy Brinker. Brinker boasts this credential: Former U.S. Chief of Protocol for President George W. Bush. Now, would anyone really want to admit this, or be recognized for it?If the First Lady wants to choose a mentor from the US military, instead of the Airforce selectee she chose, she could have selected Col. Ann Wright, who spoke out against the US invasion of Iraq, exposed US torture in Abu Ghraib, and was on a Gaza Free aid ship in the deadly flotilla.

Ellos ya han perdido sus tierras tradicionales, ahora se están perdiendo las tierras que cultivan a un vertedero enorme de roca. MUST READ-Georgetown’s Latin American Board Training the new face of the right

There are three natural states in Latin America and the Caribbean, according to a promotional video made in 2007 for Georgetown’s Global Competitiveness Leadership Program. The video explains that in this state there is “chaos” and “the ideologization of the region.” An image shows indigenous activists carrying a banner asking for “land and liberty.” The people are impoverished; there is unemployment, illiteracy, and infant mortality. Democracies are unstable. Citizens lack faith in the political system. Yet, there is still hope that the people will “wake up.” It’s only a matter of unleashing their ambition.

That’s where Georgetown comes in. With White-Gravenor Hall in the background, former Spanish President José María Aznar appears on screen to tell us there are new leaders who can solve these monumental problems—and the Latin American Board’s Global Competitiveness Leadership Program is here to train them. The video’s abridged narrative of Latin American history appears to reduce the region’s immense structural problems to a singular failure to embrace the free market. It is a vision for development and governance that has the institutional support of Georgetown University’s Latin American Board, an organization founded in 2006 and chaired by Aznar.

Indigenous Zapatista Supporters “Held Hostage” in Chiapas for Opposing Ecotourism Project

This past February 3, approximately 300 state police raided a meeting of indigenous Zapatista supporters in San Sebastian Bachajón, Chiapas, and arrested 117 people. The arrests sparked protests across Mexico and around the world, leading the Chiapas government to release the majority of the prisoners. However, five Tzeltal indigenous men, who are now known as the “Bachajón 5,” remain behind bars.

AFGHANISTAN Number of children born with deformities increasing

The number of children born in Afghanistan with misshapen limbs and other deformities is increasing, doctors say, with several blaming intermarriage, drug use and chemicals contained in coalition weapons. There are no exact statistics of the number of children born with disabilities, but anecdotal evidence from hospitals in Kabul and the provinces suggests it is increasing.
