Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez expressed today the disposition to give Uruguay from 30 to 40.000 barrels of oil, the consumption of that nation, as part of the bilateral cooperation current.Speaking to reporters shortly before the start of official talks with Uruguayan President José Mujica, the Venezuelan president also advanced the possibility to participate in the reactivation of the refinery La Teja in Uruguay.Chavez said that Uruguay can provide great support to Venezuela in areas such as livestock and agriculture, in which that nation has extensive experience.

Both presidents began formal talks today, before the signing of agreements on energy, technology, industry and agriculture.Before his arrival at Miraflores Presidential Palace in his first official visit as president, Mujica laid a wreath at the tomb of Simon Bolivar and met with the Uruguayan colony in Venezuela.He also received the title of Illustrious Guest of Caracas City issued by the government chief of the Capital district, Jaqueline Faria, and the key of the city, given by the Mayor of Caracas, Jorge Rodriguez.

Mujica arrived yesterday in Venezuela accompanied by the Foreign Minister, Luis Almagro, the Minister of Industry, Roberto Kreimerman, and Germain Riet, president of the National Administration of Fuel, Alcohol and Portland.The schedule plans Munica's return to his country for today, to conclude his first presidential tour for the region that also took him to Chile, Bolivia, Brazil and Argentina.
