BP’s Latin American Problem http://vivirlatino.com/2010/06/08/bps-latin-american-problem.php
On June 2, last week, a branch of the Colombian Army attacked the striking workers, who have escalated their strike to include blocking roads and other acts of civil disobedience. What’s really interesting after some poking around is allegations of the role of political heavy hitters in Latin America and those who have become the media darlings against BP, like James Carville, who can be seen almost nightly on CNN discussing the growing impact of the Gulf Region spill.
Carville is being linked as a supporter of big business candidate in the Colombian presidential election, Juan Manuel Santos. Worried about who and how BP will pay…look to Colombia, where millions are expected to be invested over the next year. So what may be too bad for the U.S. Gulf Region seems to be just right for Colombia.
