Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro has been attending the world summit on Haiti's future taking place in the Dominican Republic. More than 50 nations are taking part in the initiative.According to former US President and kingpin in the reconstruction process, Bill Clinton, Haiti is one area that Venezuela and the USA can agree upon without difficulties.

Maduro seemed not agree as he laid out Venezuela's position as firstly supporting efforts to strengthen Haiti's independence as a nation, free of foreign intervention.

Clarifying his thought further, the Minister stated that Venezuela wants to see the Haitian State get stronger through reconstruction in institutions as well as social matters.Countries belonging to the Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas (ALBA), he pointed out, are in agreement and have been meeting in advance of the summit to draw up an integral aid plan in health, education, food sovereignty and economic reconstruction.
