Fugitives from Venezuela's justice, who are under the accessory protection of the Peruvian Government, maintain a constant campaign against the Bolivarian Revolution, affirmed vice minister for Latin America and the Caribbean, Francisco Arias Cardenas. “Their reasons and disagreements should be solved inside Venezuela, but they have first to pay off the debts they ran up with the Venezuelan justice,” he stated. 

However, he stated, the campaign maintained against Venezuela from Peru some figures such as Manuel Rosales, accused of illicit enrichment during his term as governor in a western state in Venezuela and Oscar Perez who, besides being charged of instigation to break the law and conspiracy, has a marked trend to attack Venezuelan journalists who are inconvenient for him, is negative to the country. 

“Those who come here to make a political campaign alone, without any opposition, make a bad impression. The opposition for them is inside Venezuela. They should go to Venezuela and give their political fight inside Venezuela, instead of discrediting their own country without reasons,” Arias Cardenas expressed. 

Besides Mr Rosales and Mr Perez, there are also fugitive in Peru former governor Eduardo Lapi, charged of corruption during his term in office, and former chairperson of the Venezuelan federation of labor unions CTV, Carlos Ortega, due to his participation on the oil sabotage by the end of 2002 and early 2003, which resulted in terrible economic losses for the country.
