Lebanese Figure Stresses Iranian Revolution's Impact on Regional Uprisings http://english.farsnews.com/newstext.php?nn=8912240810A senior Lebanese politician described the Islamic Revolution in Iran as a role model and a source of inspiration for the current popular uprisings in the region, and lauded the Iranian nation's resistance against western pressures. "The Islamic Revolution in Iran has not only been a role model for revolting and revolution but also taught how to gain victory through reliance on the power of the people," former Lebanese MP and the head of the People's Movement Najah Wakim said in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Qazanfar Roknabadi on Monday. "That is what we are witnessing in the regional states, Egypt in particular," Wakim added."The US sought to make the Islamic Revolution fail but the US plot remained futile thanks to the resistance shown by the Iranian nation," Wakim concluded."The arrogant front, led by the United States, is well aware that Iran's Islamic Revolution is the role model for these popular movements," Ayatollah Khamenei said at the time.
