A senior Iranian lawmaker lambasted the US and other western countries' double-standard policies and stances on human rights issues, and said the West lays pressure on independent states like Iran to divert the world's attention from Washington's human rights abuses."In the 21st century, the modern barbarism has made a gesture of defending human rights, but is committing the most heinous acts of human rights violation," member of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Fatemeh Alia said on Sunday.
