The president of Venezuela Hugo Chavez arrived on Tuesday early morning in Ecuadorian soil, where he will hold a meeting with his counterpart Rafael Correa. This is the ninth encounter between the two head of States.“Greetings to Ecuador. We are going to work to keep strengthening the integration between Ecuador and Venezuela, the integration among the countries of the Bolivarian Alliance [of the Peoples]of Our America (ALBA),the integration of UNASUR,” said Chavez to journalists.
At his arrival, Chavez ratified that “South American countries, united as a homeland of peace, will prevent the world from being devoured by chaos” and destabilization in which empires and big powers are determined. He commented that the world is going through an era of crisis, imperial attacks to sovereign countries that want to come together.
“This is part of the imperial madness (…) All these attacks against Iran, Libya, where real crimes are being executed, where they [powers] are killing people at pleasure, in a shameless manner, this is the top of the cynicism and of the imperial madness.”President Chavez stressed that the imperialism will not achieve its goals within South America.“They will not destabilize Venezuela, nor Ecuador, nor Bolivia, even less Brazil or Argentina (…) They will not able to deal with the strength that independence, sovereignty and our unity give us.
